The statute of limitation for open ended debt is 5 years in the state of Missouri. They are well past the statute of limitation. I don't appreciate this zombie debt being resurrected after it's been settled so long ago.
Review: My husband opened a credit card with Clout in January 2006. Shortly afterwards he became homeless and then in 2010 when we were more financially stable we connected with them and set up an automatic withdrawal payment plan. the original card was for 200-300$. After fees they said it would cost 500$, so we started to have the funds paid monthly. They started charging monthly more than we agreed too and after attempting to contact them their number was disconnected. we wound up paying 800$ at that time and eventually had to contact our bank so that we could have the fund withdrawal canceled. we never received anything in writing regarding this despite multiple attempts and actually attempted to file charges at that time to retrieve the money but were unsuccessful. now, they have threatened to charge my husband and issue a warrant if he did not pay 2500$. we were able to negotiate down to to 1500, but we had received no contact from them since 2010. I think it is inappropriate to file a suit with no attempt to contact over 4 hours. the lawsuit is resolved at this time.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology letter to my husband, and this removed from his credit report
Review: This company has sold my paid debt multiple times. I was initially in contact with Pace Financial Services, which is the company I worked with to satisfy the collection. This occurred back in December 2007. I received documentation stating that the debt in question was paid in full. However, once the debt was paid I received another collection notice in 2009 about the same debt, but from a different collection agency (Eastern Asset Mgmt). I faxed that company my notice of debt satisfaction from the original collection agency and I thought I was done ever hearing anymore from Clout. To my surprise I received yet another collection notice here again in 2015 from another agency, Dynamic Recovery Solutions. I've been instructed once again to fax my statement of satisfaction. I've tried contacting Clout and to no avail can I find a working phone number. This company's business practices are very unethical for the continuing efforts to collect on a paid debt.Desired Settlement: I really hope that Clout would get their records audited to ensure that they have the correct information filed/documented for any customer that has satisfied a debt with them.
