Review: Last year, and through February of this year, I worked for [redacted] County, VA, where I was insured by [redacted] provided an optional HSA for its customers. I opted for the HSA, with an automatic withdrawal feature (i.e., health service providers could automatically withdraw monies for services rendered). When I checked my HSA balance in mid-November, 2013, it stood at $1155.65.I checked the balance again in early December, and was shocked to find that it was only $0.10. My records indicated that Clinical Lab Center (CLC) had made two withdrawals on Nov. 24; one was for $344.25 and the second was for $811.30. When I subsequently contacted [redacted] about these charges, they indicated that those services were covered. Furthermore, they indicated that they had paid CLC a negotiated amount once, and possibly twice. Since that initial discovery I've gone back and forth between [redacted] and CLC trying to get a resolution. I indicated to both parties that, for tax purposes, I needed the funds restored to my HSA by the end of 2013. CLC insisted it needed to see a check from [redacted] proving that they had paid the negotiated amount. [redacted] was able to find the check (deposited at [redacted]) and sent it on. I contacted the [redacted] advocate in January, and she had been reassuring me that the funds would be returned. As of this date, nothing has happened. When I retired on Feb. 28, my [redacted] coverage was dropped, and I apparently lost the services of the advocate, [redacted]. In her last communication, around Feb. 21, she told me that [redacted] had done verything it could to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, CLC has stopped answering my phone calls.Desired Settlement: CLC must return the $1155.55 they stole back to my HSA account. Further inaction will result in a lawsuit for a larger amount.
