Please see attachment as response is longThank you.-Anna, Tanager ManagementTo whom it may concern:We have read the letter of complaint and welcome the opportunity to respond.“Tanager Management is the property management company that I have been renting from this past yearI believe that Tanager Management is an unethical business focused on ripping off their customersI have been renting from them for the past year, and at every turn they try to gouge us for more moneyThey offer a payment option online for rent; however, if you use a debit card or online check they charge additional fees, which they claim the bank has put in placeThat's fine, because I had the opportunity to go in and pay with a check in person, I did this every month.”Concerning rent payments & fees, each Tenant is required at Lease signings to read and sign a copy of our Policies and Guidelines which states: “Credit/debit card policyYou may pay with a credit/debit cardThere will be a 3.5% charge for using your credit/debit card per transactionIf you have used your credit/debit card online you will be billed for the 3.5% charge the following weekYou are also welcome to pay with cash, money order, check, or bank to bank transfer online.” The Policies and Guidelines quoted above were signed and agreed to by the tenant in question on 8/15/At that time there was no additional fee to come into the office to pay by check, cash or money orderThe 3.5% fee was always charged for credit/debit card payments whether in office or onlineOn October 3, at 12:48pm an email was sent out to all tenants of Tanager Management concerning changes being made, the following is the portion dealing with payments and payment methods:
