Cleaning service left from cleaning having cracked a toilet tank. They were the last people on the unit and refused to provide insurance contact info.
Cleaning service were the last people in my unit when a toilet tank was cracked. 2 weeks of flooding caused me to have to get emergency drying crew into unit and for me to replace flooring in master bedroom, and living room/dining area. My homeowners' insurance helped me recover but it did not fully cover the damage.
Either cleaning service cracked the toilet and did not tell me, found it cracked and did not tell me, did not clean in the bathroom or cracked it on the way out. In any case, I want to fill a claim and their insurance. Service claims to be licensed and insured.
Jo, the owner, acts aghast about taking responsibility. This is to my surprise. She didn't even offer to come by help clean up.
Note: Cleaning service has noted negligent issues from the past with my unit ... e.g., living windows wide open after cleaning (which could also lead to extensive damage).
Please provide you liability insurance contact information so I can file a claim.
Mr *** hired our services as a cleaning company, not a management company.
We cleaned the property as per our agreement and left the property with everything in order. There were no water leaks while we were at the property and we would have notified Mr *** had there been any.
Mr *** states that we cracked the toilet. We only use a cloth and cleaning spray to clean toilets and it is not possible to break a ceramic toilet with a cloth and cleaning spray. The toilet is an old unit with a lot of wear and tear.
Obviously Mr *** had a plumbing issue with the toilet and this cost him money. He is upset that his insurance company has not covered all the costs involved with owning and running a rental property and now he is trying to assign blame to a cleaning service to recoup his expenses.
We will not be providing any insurance details.
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't accept this response. I asked for insurance company information to file a claim. This has not been provided.
Nobody inferred that Clean and Shiny is a maintenance company. Clean and Shiny has an admitted responsibility to report any needed maintenance issues.
The cracked toilet did not happen by itself. It had to have been present or created by Clean and Shiny.
Perhaps Clean and Shiny does not have insurance as they advertise?
As I pointed out in my earlier response, we are a cleaning company and therefore bear no responsibility other than cleaning. Mr *** himself is trying to infer that we are a maintenance company with his "admitted responsibility" comment. At no point while working for Mr *** did we agree to anything other than cleaning.
There was no water leakage while we were at the unit and any thereafter is not our responsibility.
We did not damage the unit and Mr *** knows this and has not provided proof otherwise.
As we are not responsible for the damage we will not be providing our insurance.
