In September 2019 I had the driveway at *** asphalted by Clark County Paving. Since installation the driveway has been cracking
I would like to inform Clark County Paving (CCP) that the installation of Asphalt and subsequent repair at *** is unacceptable and as property owner I seek reparation.
1. In September 2019 CCP installed Asphalt on a common road on 23rd court and individual driveways which included the above listed property.
2. Upon payment it was noted that the ***' were only being charged for half gravel as only half was needed.
3. CCP instructed the Asphalt should not be driven on for 4 days and not parked on for 2 weeks. This was complied too.
4. First cracks started to form on the Asphalt. The Asphalt could not support the weight of any transit vehicles and was cracking under their weight.
5. Informed CCP of the concern (documented with e-mail).
6. CCP returned and performed a repair which simply involved putting hot tar on the surface. The repair was unsightly.
7. January 2020 cracks continue to form on the Asphalt driveway.
As the owner of the property I am officially notifying CCP that I am unhappy with the installation of the asphalt and even more unhappy with the the repair performed thereafter. As property owner I allege that the driveway is cracking because insufficient foundation rock was installed and the ground was not prepared in a way that would support the asphalt under normal load conditions. As installer *** had a duty of care to install the asphalt in a way that makes it usable for its intended purpose. If concerns about supporting rock were an issue it should have been quoted and part of the installation and completed during that time.
After 4 months of light use the driveway continues to crack. I am writing this e-mail to notify *** of my discontent and provide you the opportunity to perform a full repair this spring before other methods of reparation are explored.
Clark County Paving was unaware of the issues, as we were hacked in November and had to change the email address to ***. The customer was emailing to the incorrect address, which we did not receive. The customer was called today after receiving the notice of the complaint. An appointment has been set for sometime this week to go and look at the job and see what resolution we can come to.
