I am rejecting this response because: I attempted to contact leasing office multiple times where someone would answer and hang up the line after I would start speaking. There was a portion of the fees that I paid that was supposed to be refundable if I decided not to take the apartment. I never signed a lease so referring to certain paragraphs in it do not apply to me.

I am responding to a complaint filed with you by *** ***I reviewed her statement and the details of her rental application with *** *** ***On August 31, *** *** applied to rent an apartment at *** *** ***Her original scheduled modate was September 16, 2016, but was later changed to October 1, *** *** did not sign her lease or appear in our management office to move in on October 1stAttempts were made to contact *** *** regarding her missed move in date, but the telephone calls were not returnedHer application for rental was considered cancelled on October 4'1'We do not show any notes of contact from *** *** until April 24, 2017, which was a telephone call from *** *** asking about her depositWe explained on the call that her deposit was forfeited in accordance with the rental application termsPer the conditions of her application agreement, paragraph number 6, the deposit was retained as liquidated damages because she did not sign the lease agreement after approvalA copy of the security deposit transmittal, detailing the forfeiture of the security deposit, was mailed to the address on her rental applicationI have attached a copy of the security deposit transmittal for your review.Sincerely,

Attempts were made to contact [redacted] regarding her missed move in date, but the telephone calls were not returned. Her application for rental was considered cancelled on October 4111. We do not show any notes of contact from [redacted] until April 24, 2017, which was a telephone call from [redacted] asking about her deposit. We explained on the call that her deposit was forfeited in accordance with the rental application terms. Per the conditions of her application agreement, paragraph number 6, the deposit was retained as liquidated damages because she did not sign the lease agreement after approval. A copy of the security deposit transmittal, detailing the forfeiture of the security deposit, was mailed to the address on her rental application. 1 have attached a copy of the security deposit transmittal for your review.
