Review: On February 17, 2014 I contacted C. J Diirner & Sons Roofing, Inc. in [redacted], PA to discuss having snow removed from the roofs of two structures at my residence. I was quoted a price of $100 per hour. After explaining that I live in a trailer and have a small shed in need of roof snow removal, the individual I spoke with indicated that it should not cost more than $300. The two person crew arrived at my premises at 2:20 p.m. and concluded the snow removal from the two roofs at 4:20 p.m. I was, obviously, prepared to write a check for $200 because by my calculations 2:20-4:20 p.m. equals 2 hours. I was stunned to learn that I was being charged $300. Naturally, I questioned the charges and was told that travel time caused the increase. When I first spoke to the representative earlier that day, not one word was mentioned about charging me $100 or any other amount for travel time. I feel that this is totally unacceptable and that I have been unfairly treated. If the job would have taken three hours, I would have had no problem paying the $300 for services rendered but $100 for travel time is outrageous.Desired Settlement: I feel that a refund of $100 is due me because of the circumstances explained above.
