City of Allentown Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste

Fined for Christmas tree at the curb for pick-up by the city of Allentown. I've lived at residents for over thirty years, never had an issue with a Christmas tree being picked up in front of my house. I was fined for $25 for having it in front of my house for pick-up. I was told by the representative of Allentown Sweep that there were certain dates in January they were set for pick-up . . . I didn't have those dates in front of me. I put the tree at the curb, with the assumption knowing that for over thirty years my tree was picked up in February by the city of Allentown, the representative said it wasn't them who picked it up, he said it must have been someone else. He said in the three years that he has worked for the City of Allentown Bureau of Recycling and Solid Waste we have never picked up trees in February. I thought he would be more understanding that a written, or verbal warning would be more in-line, especially knowing the situation that was put in front of him.
