Company illegally towed my vehicle from a restaurant parking lot, harassed me when trying to retrieve vehicle and threatened not to release vehicleCity Auto Tow watched as I parked directly next to a restaurant which the spot did not state belonged to the [redacted]. Upon entering the restaurant, the tow truck towed my vehicle to a neighboring city. When I found what had happened to my vehicle I called the company who was extremely in appropriate, specifically stated after I said I was a teacher and needed my items, "if you're a teacher why are you so stupid and can't read a [redacted] sign!" My husband then called them and they specifically stated, "unless your wife changes her attitude we will not release her car." They quoted $358.50 to retrieve it that night, which I could not. When I arrived the next morning after taking time off work to do so, they would not unlock the office door and I had to call for police assistance. I was charged $258.50 to get my vehicle from a company that took it illegally. Desired SettlementI would like a refund of $258.50, the amount charged to release my car.
This company towed my car after it had been illegally parked. After returning home from the towing company my son noticed damage on the bumper. He immediately called City Towing, however the manager was no longer "in the office" and the receptionist said there was nothing she could do to help. She took the message, and the manager never returned the call. Since then we have called multiple times, and stopped by the location. The manager is never available, and the receptionist says she'll give him the message. We are getting an unprofessional brush off.Desired SettlementAt this point in time we have realized that there is nothing we can do. It has been a learning lesson fro my 17 year old son, who illegally parked the car. He had no idea that he couldn't park where he did, but he's learned to only park in clearly marked areas. He has also learned, should he ever get towed again, to inspect the car prior to paying. These people seem so unscrupulous that I don't think they would have owned up to damaging the car even if my son had noticed it at pick up.
On 6/12/2014 my 2013 [redacted] Avenger was towed from the [redacted] Hotel by City Auto Towing. Upon retrieving my vehicle from the tow lot I noticed damage which was caused by the tow. I brought the damage to the attention of the tow secretary as well as the manager "[redacted]." I took pictures of the damage as did the manager. He stated that he would speak to the tow truck driver & try to ascertain what happened. I requested the tow's liability insurance information which he refused to provide. I also requested the information from the secretary who declined to provide the info as well. I have made several follow-up calls in an attempt to get the insurance information and have been unsuccessful in speaking to the manager or even getting a return call. I am requesting assistance to gain the liability insurance carriers name & info so that I can file a claim for the damage that was caused to my vehicle by City Auto towing.Desired SettlementI want the City Auto Towing company to pay for the damage caused to my vehicle.
