Review: I went to the Cielo night club in NYC in early May, and Cielo required me to check my coat upon entering the club and pay $5 for the service. When I left Cielo, I forgot to get my coat, but I still had my coat check #[redacted]. I called Cielo a few days later and [redacted], who works at Cielo's home office, left me a voicemail indicating they had my jacket. I went the following weekend to pick-up my jacket, and they indicated that they no longer had my jacket. I received the manager's name, [redacted], who took two weeks and three emails before he responded to me and he indicated that Cielo did not have my coat, and never had my coat. Here is a direct quote from one of his emails: "I know that you have spoke with both [redacted] ( in home office ) and Myself ( on property). The information you were given was incorrect and we do not have your jacket here or at the home office. I apologize for any confusion." When I spoke with [redacted] afterwards, she indicated that Cielo did have my jacket but lost it. When I responded to [redacted] requesting to be compensated a fair value for my jacket, since Cielo lost it, he responded with: " Cielo is not responisble for lost, stolen or damaged items. All items are checked at your own risk"Desired Settlement: I feel that I should be compensated for the fair market value of my jacket. Here is the exact jacket that I purchased a few months earlier: http[redacted] I don't need to be compensated for the new price, since it was a few months old, but I feel that I deserve a fair compensation for Cielo losing my jacket. I have a voicemail and my coat check as proof Cielo had my jacket, and I was both required to check my jacket, and to pay for the service.
Business
Response:
Ownership has decided to pay out the $150 that the complainant is asking for the coat that was left here almost 2 months.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
Sincerely,
Review: Property taken after a search of my bag was neither returned to me at my request when I left nor destroyed in my presence when I entered. The club in question had a system in place to hold my belongings, in the form of a coat check, which was under the supervision of door personnel. I could not have returned to my bag for access to my property while inside. After contacting the business the next day they were unwilling to settle the dispute, contending that what they had done was right and acceptable.Desired Settlement: The value of my retained property was $5.50. I want it replaced or the equivalent cash value.
