When an aging silver maple toppled into my back yard during a storm, I reached out to Chris Heller Tree Service because it was a local company. Chris came out and evaluated the damage and was warm, caring, knowledgeable and professional. The price was reasonable. He did tell me that he had some other work ahead of mine (the storm had downed a lot of trees), but he came back out quickly and cleaned up the tree. He was easy to work with and I don't have any reservations in recommending him and his business.
Apparently he doesn't need jobs because we had a small tree trimming job, he gave us an estimate and he never showed up when he said he would and he won't return our calls. I would find a different tree trimmer!
Yes we showed up to do the job, we're we delayed yes but welcome to Nebraska home of the emergency tree damage problems. We had high winds and tree's that broke and emergency services are first. Am I going to call every customer when this happens absolutely not. The majority of customers use common sense when there's bad weather to expect delays. As well as I make it clear to customer that I don't typically check messages throughout the week as I am the 1 physically doing the tree work and when I get home it's family time the calls can wait until the weekend. Obviously I would prefer a better system but for now this is what I got. Life happens, bad weather happens, and equipment issues happen. Sorry you feel you were mistreated, hopefully in the future you'll have more patience and consider the possibility that the delay is for good reason. I'm sure the customer with the smashed house and car is greatful I didn't make them wait while I did routine maintenance jobs.
I would like to add that they did show up 1 week late without ever calling to tell us they were going to be late so we hired another tree trimmer.
I understand emergencies happen and I certainly am by no means going to demand my job be done first as clearly it was a little routine job and I'm glad you were there to help someone who had a really terrible day. What I would ask is that someone that makes a commitment and can't meet that commitment would have the decency to call their customers and let them know ithat they haven't just blown you off and that they will still do the job at a later date. A call Is very quick and is not only good customer service but considerate so that someone isn't waiting around for you to come do the job that you have no intention of doing at the time/date that you said you would be there.
Not a huge deal BUT, that is not a good way to get or keep customers!
