Check Engine Express

[redacted] had her front brakes replaced by us back on June 11th, We received a call from [redacted] last February Eight months after we had performed the repair My service advisor took the call and [redacted] started the conversation threatening my service advisor that if she didn't get what she wanted she would sue us That was before she even told us what the issue actually was! My service advisor told her she would need to speak with the owner (myself) I called her back and she started the same way she had with my service advisor She stated she was very upset and that if she didn't get taken care of to her satisfaction she would take us to courtI asked her to slow down and tell me what the issue is She stated that her brakes on one side were making a loud noise and she brought it to the closest shop She stated the shop owner diagnosed the issue as missing brake caliper bolts on one caliper which allowed the caliper to make noise She stated the shop owner ( [redacted] Auto) told her it could have been a life threatening issue and she was lucky She stated the shop owner was willing to testify in court against usI asked her if [redacted] took care of the issue and she stated they had I apologized profusely and told her we would promptly reimburse her for the repair and a tow if she had one Her response was "Oh no, you will do more than that! I want the entire brake job refunded to me as well or I will see you in court!" I said that wasn't going to happen She said "Fine I will see you in court!" She then hung up the phone on meI decided to give the shop owner a call over at [redacted] Auto and he told me it was only one bolt that had come loose causing the caliper to rattle, not both He also stated he never told [redacted] he would agree to do anything and was not happy she had said that He also stated she had driven the vehicle into his shop It was not towed inSo it appears that [redacted] was less than honest with us, to try to get her brake job for freeI awaited a summons to court fully prepared to defend my case No summons ever came, so I assumed she dropped itLast week [redacted] called us again and spoke to my service advisor She started out the same way with threatsMy service advisor once again gave me the message I attempted to call her back and was not able to leave a message as her voice mail was not set up I tried again and got the same so I dropped it once moreA couple days later she called again and I took the call She stated she was will to settle with reimbursement for the repairI responded to her " [redacted] , every time you have called us you have threatened us You threatened to sue us, give us bad reviews, and you stated the owner of the other shop would be testifying against us." I stated that I had spoken to the other shop owner and he had said nothing of the sort! I told her she was just trying to get a free brake job and was willing to lie to get it! I stated I was no longer willing to discuss anything further actions with her as she is a dishonest person Her response was "Buddy, just forget it, I'll see you in court!" I said I would see her thereCheck Engine Express has been in business since and I would put our customer service rating against anyone in the country We have worked hard to earn our reputation Any statement made by [redacted] against Check Engine Express will receive immediate legal actionThat was the last conversation we hadThat said, if something doesn't go perfect we will take responsibility immediately which I did This person was trying to blackmail us to get a free brake job
