I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The reply from Dearth does not satisfy my complaintDearth did not repair my truck as agreed they would after I had the aftermarket cd player removed from the truck (as asked to do by Dearth). They still claimed that "too many aftermarket wires were in the system" , after the radio had been isolated to using only power and ground from the truck by an audio technician in Freeport IL. After market radios have been around for many years and are very commonly found in many ranges of cars and trucks. I find it unacceptable that a certified technician at Dearth (a GMC Dealership) is not capable of resolving an issue with an HVAC system in a truck, and blaming it on aftermarket wiring, when there was no aftermarket wiring associated with the HVAC system in my truckI also find it unacceptable that the service managers were not willing to research the issue and find out how to fix it properly, rather than wasting my time and money. Dearth replaced many parts on my HVAC system, but I am not at all confident that they all needed to be replaced after reviewing the manner in which my truck was properly fixed at Bocker auto in Freeport IL. I was overcharged in this matter, and my truck was not repaired, and I am requesting a refund as stated in my previous complaint.

*** scheduled an appointment for 09/27/for multiple concernsThe issue regarding his A/C blowing warm and not switching modes from defrost to other locations was verified and estimated as folllows: The GM Ceritified electrical technician found eight (8) HVAC diagnostic trouble codes stored
in history including B0228, B3779, B0423, B3933, B3782, B0433, B3782,and BAll of the read codes are related to the Temperature Actuator, Control Sensor, and HVAC Module that require replacement to repair/remove error codesAfter installation of the new parts, the codes were verified as cleared and did not return indicating any new failure(s)As required by GM, a re-calibration of (vehicle) equipment is required after this type of mechanical repair, our technician was unable to connect the vehicle HVAC system to calibrate due to noriginal equipment (aftermarket) wiringWe asked *** to have the wiring uninstalled so the calibration could be correctly installed/uploaded by our equipmentHe then took possession of the vehicle in an “un-completed service status” and left the dealershipOn 11/29/*** scheduled a follappointment after stating the aftermarket wiring had been uninstalled from the HVAC systemUpon checking the vehicle in for service, our technician found only one (1) code that was activeCode Bhad returned and led our diagnosis to a faulty HVAC moduleUpon replacement of that item, the codes were cleared and verified not returning/re-occurringAfter replacement of the part, the tech still was unable to connect our GM computer system to the vehicle for calibration due to noriginal equipment (aftermarket) wiring still being in the systemStill causing issues between vehicle and (our) computer connection*** was not charged for diagnosis labor or parts cost at this vist.During this visit we asked *** to get a second opinion (ieanother repair facility) due to the installation of nparts installed in the vehicle, because we are not trained on nequipped repairs. Our services and parts rendered were done in accordance to GM service standards to remedy the issues (codes) as reported by the vehicle, to the best of our ability, working with items (wiring) that are considered non-stock and can (especially in this instance) interfere with a standard procedure as outlined by the vehicle manufacturerOur technician could not resolve the calibration issue, but reassured management, and the customer that the replacement of all parts was necessary (as indicated by the zero (0) of trouble codes being reported by the vehicle itself.)* *** *** *** ***

After reviewing [redacted]'s rejection, it seems that he is not understanding that there was eight (8) seperate failures in his vehicle relating to his HVAC system. The problem he is ONLY rejecting in his rebuttal response is the unit reverts to the "defrost" mode, as stated by him, was the problem repaired at another dealer at his expense of $69.66. Our General Manager has authorized a refund of $69.66 to [redacted] for being unable to repair the "defrost" mode issue. The seven (7) other issues the HVAC system had at the time [redacted] brought in the vehicle have been, and still are, repaired per the paperwork he signed authorizing the work (SEE ATTACHMENT 1, HIGHLIGHT). Not only did he authorize the work by signature, he also authorized the estimate charges prior to doing our repairs, and paid in full at the time of reclaiming possession of the vehicle with full knowledge that seven (7) of the eight (8) problems had been repaired (SEE ATTACHMENT 2, HIGHLIGHT). We are declining to refund, as he stated, $515.28 for the repairs at our dealership since the work was completed properly, and repaired seven (7) problems. The request to pay $70.00 for the unhooking, and $100.00 for reinstalling the radio is also being declined because he was informed of this issue, and was asked to have this done before we could continue. The removal was not done properly, and we cannot be held responsible from another business' abilities to perform their services. The request to pay [redacted]'s travel time of $164.00 is also being declined on the basis of it being his decision to come to our location. We appreciate his willingness to travel a longer distance to our location (about 33 miles), but he chose to use us instead of his nearest GMC dealer approximately half the distance from his location (about 17 miles.)Our response to [redacted]'s rejection is we are authorizing a refund of $69.66, that he paid to another location to finailize his repairs. All other items are being denied due to the reasons above.
