The product in question is a listed fit on the customer's vehicle based on the fit guide provided by the manufacturer of the product (***)*** tests each vehicle to determine if the product, in this case a bike rack, will fit the vehicle in questionIf the vehicle is unable to support the
weight or if the product cannot be properly attached to the vehicle it is not listed as a fitIn this case the bike rack is a listed fit on the vehicle based on the vehicle information the customer provided usOur staff member only recommended this bike rack option based upon the manufacturer's information and the information provided by the customerWe make no representation of specific suitability of purpose. When the customer called and spoke with one of our staff he told the staff member that the rack had simply been tried on the vehicle and wanted to exchange itHe was told over the phone that he would have to bring the product in to have it inspected prior to an exchange being approvedWhen the customer's wife brought the product into the store it was found that the product was visibly used, far more used than just trying it on the vehicleThe product was full of dirt, straps were missing from the box and the cradles had been scratchedWe informed the customer that we would not be able to exchange the item based on it's condition.In addition to the product being used the item was also outside of our return policy time period which is clearly marked on the receipt.We are unable to offer a refund or exchange on this item due to the fact that is has been obviously used for longer than just installing the rack and loading bikes
