Overcharged in services. $200 for a simple one tire inspection and tube change

I needed a motorcycle part ASAP, so I looked online and found Chapparal Motorsports claimed to carry the part I needed and showed it was in stock. I placed an order, choosing the next day shipping option and paying extra for it.

I was contacted by email (I still have the email they sent so I will quote directly from it) stating that: "... The contact information that you provided was invalid. We require and MUST have a valid phone number to process your order. Also, the item on your order is not instock at this time. In the meantime, we have archived your order, and it will not be processed until we hear from you. ..."

I did not have any extra time to wait for them to get the part in stock as I was leaving the country. Since I had their assurance in writing that they would not process the order, I just left it alone and did not respond. I got the part elsewhere and left the country a few days later.

I then saw on my credit card bill that they charged me, so I went to have the charges reversed but they refused to do so. They told me they had shipped the part and if I wanted my money back I would need to ship the part back to them. Impossible from my situation so I ended up paying for their errors.

I believe this to be an error(s) on their part, and miscommunication as they did not do what they said they would do.
1. Listed a part in stock that was out of stock.
2. Told me they would not process my order, then processed my order (they said they needed a phone number which I never responded to or gave them as I no longer wanted the order processed since they took too long and didn't have the part to send fast enough anyway.)
3. Charged me for next day shipping and shipped it weeks later.
4. Shipped to an address I was no longer at.

Mr. placed an order and used his PayPal account to pay for the order to be shipped to the confirmed address on his PayPal account. PayPal's payment system verifies the name address and phone number of the customer prior to anyone being able to pay with their PayPal account. The order he placed with our company was sent to the verified address provided by PayPal and used by the customer to place the order we processed to him. We delivered it to the confirmed address, The customer also disputed the charges through PayPal, but PayPal denied his claim as did we since the order was processed to the requested address on his order and the time of placement. It is not understandable why the customer would place an order and ask us to ship it to an address where he no longer lives. We never told the customer we were not processing the order.

I spent $700 plus on a tire, two tire mounts, and rebuilt front fork springs. One week later, with two scratches in the chrome, a wobbling front light mount, and a running light out, my bike was returned to me.

I complained, they took the bike for another week. They replaced one light bulb and never fixed the wobbling light!

When I asked for some type of discount, after two weeks they were considering giving me a gift certificate. Still no response on that.

I was going to co sign for my son to get a quad and I asked specifically to only make one credit enquiry and the sales person said yes only one and three enquiries later so that being said the sales person lied of course...The reason behind all this is I'm trying to buy home and my whole FICA SCORE WENT DOWN because of this miss leading info....

We apologize for your recent experience with financing, and will work to continue to train our sales staff to provide more clear and transparent information about credit inquires. As a matter of policy however, each credit application that is completed by an applicant contains a pre-printed list of banks and credit agencies that your application will be run at directly on the application to avoid any question about inquiries made on our behalf. We also provide a copy of our privacy policy to help clarify this information. Our management staff will not run credit on any individual unless this information has been provided to the customer, and a signed copy provided to the sales manager who runs the credit. Again, we can always work better at what our sales staff may or may not imply, but we make every attempt to include this information directly to the customer to avoid any communication misunderstanding.

Chaparral sells OLD NEW TIRES. Old new tires are dangerous. I was sent a three year old tire. They lost a customer over a return shipping label. Customer service does a great job for the bean counters. Consider replacement after five years per manufacture, Chaparral knows this. I will probably not wear this tire out in two years.
