Complaint [redacted] To whom it may concern,This customer came into our dealership wanting to trade in his 2005 BMW X5 for a used car and he wanted to receive $2000,00 cash back. He was given a few vehicles to choose from. He decided to purchase a 2003 Ford Taurus with over 175,000 miles on it. The... customer was told that the vehicle was 100% AS-IS and he was responsible for any repairs after the sale. At the time of delivery, the customer signed two different pieces of paper stating that nothing was promised at the time of delivery.A few days after purchasing the vehicle, he started having several issues (battery, overheating etc). We told the customer that we could possibly trade him out of the Taurus for little of no money out of pocket depending on the vehicle. This agreement was dependant on what the dealership took in on trade over the next couple of days and weeks. Unfortunately we did not trade for anything that met the customer needs,When the customer came in to the dealership, he was needing to receive money back as quick as possible. He knowingly purchased a vehicle over 10 years old with over 175,000 miles and received $2,000.00 back. As a dealership, we feel we did nothing wrong or unethical with this customer. We never went back on what we said, and there was no guarantee that we would trade for something that would work for the customer. We appreciate this customer's’ service to our Country, We value all of our customers and want to treat each one with the same respect and decency they deserve.
