CGI Impact windows with sharp, jagged, irregular edging were installed at my home
On 10/21/2017, Florida Solar and Air improperly installed CGI windows, 11/4/2017; 11/10/2017 and 11/11/2017, Florida Solar and Air, removed, properly framed and re-installed all of the windows. While operating the windows I noticed the sharp edges after I cut my hand. 12/15/2017, I contacted CGI regarding the injury and inquired about some remedies. *** from CGI contacted me back on 12/18/2017 requesting installer information. 12/19/2017, *** informed me that she would be reaching out to Florida Solar and Air. 1/12/2018, I contacted *** again, inquiring about an update and requesting confirmation regarding whether the windows that were installed were actually new windows, due to the appearance that the windows have been hand cut with a knife and don't resemble the Targa windows in there brochure. 1/16/2018, *** replied stating that the windows were all custom made. 1/17/2018, *** informed me that their Customer Service Manager was unable to get the service information from Florida Solar and Air and requested my assistance. So, I forwarded her email to *** of Florida Solar and Air. I was later contacted by a CGI representative who informed me that a step was missed during production and offered to make a special molding that would cover the sharp edging. I inquired about a price reduction/compensation due to the windows being defective and requiring further modifications to alleviate the sharpness that caused injury and poor appearance. I was informed that I should speak with Florida Solar and Air and that the molding would require some time to customize. I was not happy with the fact that I would be the first customer to try this product when I contracted for windows that have been on the market but I was willing to take the modifications because I did not want to have to endure a THIRD installation. During the wait I emailed Florida Solar and Air on 4/2018 requesting a price adjustment and informed them of the pending work 5/21/2018, I received NO RESPONSE. I made an appointment 5/16/2018, which I later cancelled due to a conflict. 5/21/2018, I was contacted by *** of CGI to reschedule installation of the molding, I informed her that I was out of town and would get back to her. 5/31/2018, *** inquired about scheduling and I informed her that I am trying to coordinate with Florida and Air so that I can resolve all of the pending matters at once. Florida Solar and Air has yet to schedule the installation of the pending windowsills but has offered a credit for work that could not be performed per the contract. Florida Solar and Air has also stated in their email and response to my Revdex.com complaint, that CGI is not inclined to offer "ANY discount" and that the windows were to specifications. Although they will need to sand and install special molding to prevent further injury during uses. I've tried multiple times to resolve this matter but neither company is willing to take responsibility for the defective windows.
I want the price to be adjusted to reflect the price of defective/Incomplete windows. The windows that I contracted for with Florida Solar and Air did not require sanding or a special molding that has never been used before on any of their windows. My contract has been breached due to the fact that I don't have the Targa windows I chose. OR, I am willing to have all new Targa windows installed that meet the specifications of the Targa windows I contracted for with Florida Solar and Air.
