I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint The financial institution called me to accept the terms of this contractWhen specific details wanted to be discussed by me, I was informed that "The financial institution only buys a contract from the dealer"I tell them that if this is the case, I do not accept the terms of the contractThey go on to explain how the dealer sets the details and how the contract is practically put up for auctionSince I didn't just want to take this info as gospel just yet, I called my former financial institutionAfter a very lengthy conversation with them, they tell me in different words, the same exact thingAnd then tell me that that is why they can only deal with a dealership and not any "joe"I have also been informed that this was information that I was not supposed to knowBut apparently more people have found out about this and there is a "special team" that deals with thisThey deal directly with the Office of the President of the financial institution Regards, [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below [ let me try and clarify my issues here:- I brought the car in to be appraised, which I understood, but the salespeople never actually looked at the car before telling me $6500.- I asked to be taken off the mail piece list, and they said they would do soI'm still getting promotional mail.- I already complained about the first issue to Century 3, but whoever took my complaint at your office never followed up with me, and I still got promotional mail that your salespeople said you'd stop sending, that's why I mentioned this to the Revdex.com now Regards, Jeremy D'souza

Mr [redacted] called into the store to discuss a Mail Piece we sent him regarding buying his vehicle On the mail piece it stated we could give him as much as $8,for his vehicle He wanted someone over the phone to commit to a Price without even seeing his car He was told to bring it in for an actual appraisal. When he came in to have it appraised he stated he wanted $10,for his car and we appraised it for $6, We were not able to agree on numbers and he left unhappy We cannot appraise a vehicle over the phone nor can we commit to a number without seeing itThis is why he was invited in to have it appraised. It is unfortunate that we could not agree to figures on his car, but that does not mean that we mislead him in any way If you have any questions feel free to call me at ###-###-#### Ext ***Sincerely, [redacted] ***Century Chevrolet [redacted] ***

Ok, it took speaking with a finance officer at a bank AND an insurance specialist to fully process why every red flag I have was going off when I went to purchase a vehicle from this lot.

To start, the salesperson was sickly sweet but there was sort of a strange uneasy undertone that was magnified by her knowing absolutely nothing about the vehicle I was interested in and even quoting the vehicle next to it as the wrong year and insisting it was correct. She was nice yet curt and had really nothing to add beyond what was on the website.

When it came time to purchase, things went wrong very quickly. I had to go back and forth for over an hour to get them to barely meet fair market value on the vehicle. I still ended up about $1,500 over what other places were selling the same vehicle for. In addition, the vehicle was hail damaged and the salesperson was extremely careful not to say when it happened and whether it happened at their lot. She then told me that they never reported the damage (i.e it happened at their lot) and to simply claim to insurance the damage during the next storm to get it fixed. During the buying process, I was presented with an Acknowledgment of Damage form which immediately set off sirens for me. If you never claimed it, then why would you have me acknowledge it?

I have since spoken with an insurance specialist who explained that the vehicle was absolutely damaged at their lot, they pocketed the money and the acknowledgment was legal protection for them in the event I tried to claim the damage after a storm to get it fixed. They essentially legally protected themselves and set me up to do something patently illegal. The insurance specialist made it clear, my insurance would have known immediately and I would have been dropped from my insurance for life for lying. This is what the salesperson AND her manager suggested that I do.

Second, they required that I place full coverage insurance on the vehicle before they would even let me purchase it, not use my umbrella policy but purchase full coverage right there at the table before they would let me even speak with finance. Speaking with an insurance specialist, this is HIGHLY illegal. Not just something that might slip the cracks, but full stop illegal and they knew it.

I was prefinanced through my bank. The salesperson spent an hour telling me that they can do better financing and to let them run their financing for me. I finally agreed after half an hour of the salesperson refusing to acknowledge what I was asking her to do. I keep my credit score locked and asked them to let me know when they were running it so I could unlock it for them. They ran it without my permission and it was denied so instead they then ran my TransUnion, twice. Once on the day and again the next day, for some reason. My TransUnion has taken a 20 point hit.

I was told they work with hundreds of credit unions and they would have a bunch of offers ready for me. The salesperson guaranteed me they could do better than my current financing so I should agree beforehand to use theirs and not mine. Two hours of them "running the numbers" while I signed other paperwork and I find out they only have one offer. From my bank. At two percent higher interest. I showed the finance person my approval and was informed it wasn't real and that I should just sign the two percent higher and duke it out with my bank.

I spoke with my bank. My approval was 100% valid and the only reason they offered me financing I already had, was to make the referral money. And they weren't even running real numbers come to find out so it was just rates they had pulled off of the bank's website. My banker FLAT OUT told me not to do business with them.

When the deal was looking shaky, the finance person magically came back with a finance offer from an out of state lender for nearly 3% less and started trying to get me to sign a bill of sale. I told them I needed to speak with my bank because I needed someone I trust to explain what was happening to me. Three times they tried to get me to sign the bill of sale before I left.

I told them I would let them know what I decided by 1 pm the next working day and by 11 am of that day I had four calls, four voicemails, and three text messages asking if I had spoken to my bank.

The entire 6-hour ordeal made me HIGHLY uncomfortable and I left feeling sick because I couldn't figure out what they were trying to do to me. After speaking with my bank and an independent insurance specialist, they were fully trying to take advantage of me. I went in there honest and hoping to have someone be helpful along the way as it was my first time buying a car and every weird thing began to add up and I almost had a panic attack at one point because of how deeply uncomfortable they all made me feel. Not to mention that they would back me into legally damning corners with full smiles on their faces.

10/10 DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE

Dear [redacted],Thank you for using Century Chevrolet as one of your shopping choices. We sincerely appreciate your patronage. I've reviewed your complaint and completely understand your frustration. It's important to note, that most car dealerships broker vehicles on behalf of the manufacturer....

We are not banks nor do we lend money for the purchase of one our vehicles. With that being said, we are partnered with over 31 banks locally and nationwide, to help our mutual clients finance the vehicles we sell. This dynamic can sometimes create confusion and frustration because we are forced to communicate the intent or lack-thereof, from the banks. We're in the business to sell cars and make the best possible deals we can for our clients and you're no exception. I feel we're very good at determining what the banks will decide in regards to interest rate, terms and approvals but not 100% of the time. Especially, when there may be a payment history note or supplemental information that the bank is not communicating to the public credit reports. I've researched your deal extensively and despite the information you may have received from the bank, at some point during your finance period, there was a delay and outstanding balance of $915.00. The only bank we received an approval from was GM Financial at the current payment or less. They were not on-board with a payment increase due to the payment history. I apologize for bank call and not being able to procure financing to upgrade your truck. We wanted nothing more, then to sell you a vehicle. Your credit history, relationship with the bank and total available income were all factors that deterred the banks from giving us the approvals we needed. Our bailment agreement explains this dynamic in full but we didn’t charge anything for usage of the truck. Please feel free to call me directly with any questions at [redacted]. Again, I apologize on behalf of all the employees at Century Chevrolet, for not being able to solidify your deal but I promise there was no malicious intent at all.Best Regards,[redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted],
We apologize for the inconvenience that this issue has caused. When Century purchased the vehicle at auction, we were unaware that Masini Motors did not complete their VIN verification for an out-of-state vehicle. As per...

Colorado law, a dealership must complete a VIN verification on any out-of-state vehicle purchase or sale. Masini Motors failed to issue a VIN verification on the vehicle in question.
Upon being notified of the incomplete wholesale transaction, we immediately reached out to the owner of Masini Motors and obtained a VIN verification to satisfy the DMV rules and regulations. We apologize for the delay in paperwork but the paperwork has been corrected and resent to the DMV. They should be able to process the title work and issue plates within 48 hours. Please call the Arapahoe branch to verify the paperwork is processed prior to a physical visit. There are some DMV branches that are behind a few weeks. If you call in advance, they increase the urgency of processing the paperwork especially in a delay like yours.
Once again, we apologize for the oversight and sincerely appreciate your business.
Best Regards,
