Business responded to complaint:I was never contacted by Mr. [redacted] in regards to his gutter cleaning service we provided him. A week passed by before I received the letter from Revdex.com. After reading the letter from Revdex.com I called Mr. [redacted] on 7/9/2015 to try and see what happened and what caused him...

to write Revdex.com before he called me. He told me that the damaged gutter my Foreman told him about was not damaged before we did the cleaning. I informed Mr. [redacted] that we do not put our ladders on downspouts when we gutter clean. We put the ladders on the gutters because they can support the weight of the ladders. Mr. [redacted] did not believe me. He then went on to tell me that my Foreman was trying to sell him three more downspouts for the house that he felt that he did not need. After I spoke to my Foreman he informed me that when they cleaned the gutters they pulled out 5 garbage bags worth of leaves and debris. This informed me that the gutters have been neglected over the years. My Foreman said they were able to see that the downspouts split at the seam in the back when they flushed the downspouts. The downspouts split due to ice that froze in them. When I explained this to Mr. [redacted] he just told me he had to get off the phone and he hung up on me. After a few days I called Mr [redacted] back on 7/14/2015 I asked him is there anything I could do to resolve this problem and get paid for the service that we provided him. He said there is nothing that we could do because my Foreman told him we would only be able to get white not ivory downspouts to replace the one damaged one he claims we damaged. So I told him what if I came personally to his house to take a look, remove the downspout, and take it to a supplier that would be able to color match it. He said ok as long as the new downspout is the same color.  I went to his house introduced myself and had him show me the downspout. I removed it and took it to my supplier and was able to color match it. I came back installed the new downspout and gave Mr [redacted] the remaining 4 feet of downspout.  When I look closely at the location of the gutter and the downspout I saw that it is impossible for my men to have set up a ladder by the downspout due to the sloped roof under the gutter. Also when you look at the picture of the downspout there are no dark marks on the downspout indicating that a ladder hit it to dent it. All you can see is that the gutter does have a dent on the front and it has a huge bubble in the back where it froze and split the seam on the downspout. I decided not to tell Mr. [redacted] because I felt that no matter what I was to tell him or show him he would not believe me. He was right because he feels that he is more educated in gutter repair then someone that has been in the business for 16 years. But in the end I was able to install the new downspout for free for Mr. [redacted] and he in return gave me a check for the gutter cleaning. The only thing I forgot to ask Mr. [redacted] before I left was to write back to the Revdex.com that we resolved the problem.
