Review: On Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at approximately 3:00pm, I purchased diesel at this establishment, using my personal credit card. I drove approximately 2 miles, and my truck began hesitating and losing power. There were no previous mechanical issues whatsoever with this truck, of which I am the only owner. I barely made it home, and since it was late in the day, I decided to work on finding the problem the next morning. I rented a pump to siphon fuel out of the fuel tank, and that is when I discovered that there was a large amount of water in the fuel. I spent all day pumping fuel out,replacing the fuel filter and running new diesel and additive to the tank. Once I got the truck running as well as before, I called Catawba Grocery and asked to speak with the owner. A female employee answered and relayed what I was saying to the owner. I asked to speak with the owner, and was told that she was too busy. Then I asked her to relay the message to the owner that I would be calling the Dept. of Agriculture unless we resolved this issue. The owner apparently was not bothered by this as she refused to speak with me. On October 16, I called the Dept. of Agriculture, who then went to Catawba Grocery on October 17 and found "a large amount of water" in the diesel pump and proceeded to shut down the pumps. I was notified by the Dept. of Agriculture of this finding on October 17, and the inspector also commented that while she was there, another customer inquired if she was there to check for water in the fuel pumps. This customer stated that he got fuel a few days prior and after driving two miles, his vehicle was disabled on the side of the road. On October 17, I called Catawba Grocery once again to see if we could settle this problem without involving anyone else. I was told by the owner that I did not have proof, to which I stated that I had a receipt and was on surveillance cameras. She proceeded to hang up on me. Please help keep this from happening to other customers.
