Review: I pawned a ring at this location. It was my grandmother's custom made amethyst ring. They listed it as an amethyst ring. The stone was rectangular and very purple. When I obtained my jewelry from pawn, I received a pear shaped gem that is turquoise or teal in color. Does not even resemble an amethyst. I have no proof. No pictures. I am hurt and angry that I was taken advantage of, especially over an heirloom that I cannot replace. Since they listed the stone as an amethyst do I have any recourse?

Initial Business Response
This letter is in response to case # XXXXXXXX from the Revdex.com.
First, we would like to state that we have been in the pawnbroking business for more than 100 years and our customers relationship is very important to us.
Items that are pawned with us are treated with the upmost care and respect and while in pawn are secured in a walk-in vault.
As to the accusation that the items pawned were different from the items returned.
All jewelry that is pawned with us are placed in a secured envelop and are not moved or opened until the items are redeemed.
These are the facts as we know them.
[redacted] did not pawn the items she is referring to. The items were pawned and redeemed by [redacted] on August 30, 2013. At that time Mr. [redacted] redeemed three separate loans that contain multiple pieces of jewelry. These included rings, chains, and earrings.
The loan that contained an amethyst ring along with other jewelry was first pawned by Mr. [redacted] on December 7, 2012 and than as stated redeemed August 30, 2013.
As to an Amethyst stone.
Natural Amethyst stones in very nice color sell for $15.00 to $20.00 dollars. They are not a very expensive stones and we only accept them in pawn if they are set in gold. This may be verified by a search on [redacted]
We are sorry that Ms. [redacted] believes that we changed her amethyst stone but this is not the case or would it benefit us to do so.
Respectfully.
