Cash Time Loan Centers Reviews (28)

Review: I got a title loan two years ago for the total amount of 800 dollars , I have paid back over a total of 3000 dollars, when I asked the company if there was a way to settle this debt they acted as though the local office manager was unavailable and my only option was to come down to the office and attempt to refinance or catch up on the loan. I need my vehicle and I think that paying back over 3000 dollars on 800 dollar loan should cover my expense. Either they offer me a settlement or break even before I take civil matters they threaten me with their legal department which in fact isn't legal under the fair collection laws.Desired Settlement: I will only pay 200 more dollars toward this

Regards,

On July 23rd or 24th, I called to let cashtime know that my banked had sent their ck of $114 back to them and that I wanted to pay by debit card over the phone. I was late when I made the original payment by 15 days, but was calling now to pay by debit since my bank made a boo boo. Cashtime said "no, you are current. I said "no I saw the returned check online with my bank. The lady [redacted] said just wait a few days and we will call you if the payment didn't go thru. So, I wait a few days and they call and say the check was returned and we need the payment by Saturday. O said I will be there at 9:00 when you guys open up, she said no prom lem, see you Saturday. I wake up Saturday July 27th with no car. So no agreement was kept on their part. I had been a loyal customer for years and all because of one returned check they took my car and will not let me have it back without paying the entire loan off. My good history with them should've made a difference.

Review: I have always paid my bill on time and this particular time I went only a 2 months with out payment due to having health care issues. I have contact the company in feb and advised I would be making payments and will try to pay the account off once I am provided my lump sum of funds. The company has sent my case to an attorney for no reason. I have talked to the secretary of the attorney and they are trying to get more money than whats owed. I advised them I am willing to pay what I rightfully owe the company, since thats what I advised the rep that works for the loan company shy of an month ago. The attorney is trying to charge more fees then needed. the account did not get the far into delinquency. I am willing to make my payments to my account but I am not able to make pay the amount the attorney is asking for. Due to being on a LOA for a month and having two surgeries in 2013 that I am still paying for plus 3500 in federal taxes that I have very high payments arrangements on, I am only able to do the amount of the loan which is 406.00 . The attorney is trying to charge me 957.00. I just cannot pay this balance. I need help I have proof of being approved for leave of absence from work and my billing that I am paying for in taxes. Either they allow my to do a payment arrangement for the original balance due or I can attempt to the lump sum of 406.00Desired Settlement: I am only able to pay what the original amount was due - which was 406.00

Ms. [redacted] obtained a loan from

Cash Time Title Loans, Inc. “Cash Time” on 10/20/2013 for $500.00. Ms. [redacted]

made 3 payments on time with her 4th payment being returned for

non-sufficient funds. Cash Time attempted over 70 calls, emails and letters in

an effort to contact Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] finally contacted the office on

2/6/14 and made a promise to pay a partial payment on 2/14/14. Cash Time

accepted this arrangement as we were willing to work with her. Ms. [redacted] did

not make this payment or return phone calls on 2/14/14. On 2/15/14 the Cash

Time Loan Office forwarded the account to our litigation department. Our

litigation Department once again tried to contact Ms. [redacted] with no return calls.

Cash Time then sent the account to our 3rd party Attorney to begin

lawsuit and garnishment proceedings. It was not until then that Ms. [redacted]

called in to the attorney’s office to attempt settlement. At this time Cash

Time had already incurred $300.00 in attorney’s fees. Cash Time is still

willing to settle the account for the $406.67 principal balance plus the

attorney’s fees of $300.00 totaling $706.67. Cash Time will waive the $259.34

in interest and fees currently due. Ms. [redacted] has until April 7th

to accept these terms or the lawsuit will proceed forward for the full amount

due.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

I cannot accept the amount that is being charged. I can only afford the amount of 406.00 I can even come up with 500.00 if necessary. As I have stated with the rep, that I have been out of work and I was on a disability leave for a extended period of time. I was not paid most of the time I was off, causing me to be short on my payments, along with me having fraud on my account from causing me to close the current account. I have been unable to communicate with anyone for some time. Please send the Revdex.com documents showing I have always paid my account on time and I have even paid this account off before. I had no intensions of ever being late but I was medically unable to continue payments. My small settlement will come soon and I will be able to pay only the balance off that was due, due to me having medical bills that I must pay. Please understand that I am not trying to get out of my payment but once again I am unable to make the payment for anything more than 500.00. I can scan and show proof that I was off work for an extended amount of time on leave of absence, causing me to fall behind.

Review: I got a personal loan of $200 on which payments are due every two weeks, I always pay with cash at the 3925 N. 67th Ave location. One of my payments was due on 7/26/13, I went and made my payment the same day at the location mentioned above. Next Monday (7/29/13) they tried to withdraw the payment I had already done the previous Friday causing me an overdraft fee of $35. This happened again with my next payment which was due 8/9/13 and I had paid that very same day with cash. they tried to withdraw the payment again on 8/12/13 of my checking account causing another overdraft fee.Desired Settlement: An amount of $54.91 is still due in my amount to finishing paying my loan. They caused me $70 in overdraft fees. I ask debt to be settled.

Response:

Mr. [redacted] entered into a secondary motor vehicle finance contract agreement with Cash Time Title Loans, Inc. on May 3, 2013 in the amount of $200.00. The terms of the agreement are as follows. Mr. [redacted] chose to take out a person loan, in which he would make 13 bi-weekly payments of $25.21 until November 1, 2013.

Mr. [redacted] honored the terms of his contract, making regularly scheduled bi-weekly payments of $25.21. On two occasions, however, Mr. [redacted] made cash payments and was also charged via the debit card listed on his account. This resulted in Mr. [redacted] incurring $70.00 in overdraft charges.

Immediately upon notification of this incident, Cash Time representatives credited Mr. [redacted]’s account for the two debit card charges. Moreover, Cash Time representatives have spoken to Mr. [redacted] and offered to repay him the $70.00 in overdraft charges and apply it to the remaining balance of his account. Mr. [redacted] accepted this proposal.

Therefore, Cash Time considers this matter closed.

Regards,

Review: I refinanced a title loan with Cash Time. Shortly after, I lost my job. I went in immediately to Cash Time and told them of my situation. I was finally able to get unemployment and I told them I would pay them $30 a week. They documented this and accepted this payment. I finally found a job but had to purchase a headset and usb flash drive which cost me $20. I went in to Cash Time, spoke to someone by the name of [redacted] and advised I did get a job and start employment on 9/11/13. I told [redacted] I would be on on Saturday, 9/7/13, and pay $20 as I was planning on borrowing this from my neighbor. [redacted] told me that my car was repo mode and the $20 would not help unless my account up to date. neighbor did not have the $20 as it turned out. On Sunday, 9/8/13, my friend offer to loan a $100.00 to help me out and get my car out of repo mode. I called Cash Time on Monday morning and was told my friend COULD NOT call in a $100 payment for me on on his debit card even though he was a current customer of Cash time. My friend was out of the country due to a family emergency.

On Sunday evening, 9/8/13, I was able to find some place to refinance my title loans as I felt I was being mistreated as a consumer from Cash Time. I was able to secure a refinancing of my title through [redacted] on 93rd avenue and Northern. They were closed Sunday so I had to wait until Monday 9/9/13 to sign document. On monday morning, 9/9/13, I called and spoke to the debt collect manger, Phoenix, who I told I would be refinancing the title loan through [redacted]. On Monday, 9/9/13, Phoenix had a terrible monsoon storm and I wanted to wait until it subsided until I went to [redacted]. AS it turned by the time did stop, I proceeded to leave and go to [redacted], MY CAR WAS REPOED!!!

I feel this is very unjust for many reasons. First being that everyone at the office does not know who is in first. I explained many times my situation to several different people who told me it would be document in my file, but IT NEVER WAS. Secondly, as a consumer I did not ignore their phone or letters as some do avoid payment or otherwise. I was in that office once a week or more, and called them once a week or more. The debt collection manager took it upon herself to have my car repoed the same day I tell her I had a friend who offered to call in a payment to them, then I called her back and told her I would be refinancing with another title loan company who could offer me a better interest rate and lower monthly payment. Despite the fact, that the title loan with CASH TIME would have been paid in full within 24 hours, my car was repoed the same day I was planning to refinance it with another title company. I feel that because I was removing my business with CASH TIME and giving my business to another title company, that they were spiteful and unprofessional and had my car towed for the above reasons listed.Desired Settlement: I would like my car back or one equivalent to it!!!

Response:

Ms. [redacted] entered into a secondary motor vehicle finance contract agreement with Cash Time [redacted] Loans, inc. on June 17, 2013 in the amount of $1,400.56. The terms of the agreement are as follows. Ms. [redacted] agreed to make 29 monthly payments of $128.99 until November 19, 2015.

Ms. [redacted] failed to make even one full payment on the agreed-upon payment dates. On July 19, 2013, Ms. [redacted] made a partial payment of $61.50. It was not until two weeks later, on August 2, 2013, that she paid the remaining balance of her first monthly payment. Ms. [redacted] then made another partial payment of $30.00 on August 27, 2013. Not only was this payment another 8 days late, but it was also a full $98.99 under the minimum monthly payment Ms. [redacted] agreed to.

Ms. [redacted] spoke to Cash Time representatives on several occasions to explain the situation and inform them that she would be able to make weekly payments of $30.00. Each time, Cash Time representatives told her that normal collection activities would resume, including the possibility of repossession, until she made up for the difference of her late, partial payments. After Ms. [redacted] broke her promise to make weekly payments of $30.00, Cash Time decided to repossess her vehicle, an action fully within its rights under Arizona state law.

Cash Time feels it has been more than helpful and accommodating of Ms. [redacted] and her situation. Nonetheless, Cash Time is always willing to work with its customers to find a mutually beneficial solution. If Ms. [redacted] would be willing to bring her account up to date by paying the balance of her scheduled payments, Cash Time will release her vehicle. If not, Cash Time will auction off the vehicle and satisfy Ms. [redacted]’s loan with the sale proceeds.

Ms. [redacted] can contact [redacted] at [redacted] with any questions she may have.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I lost my job on July 12, 2013. I informed Cash Time immediately and asked if they would be willing to work with me until my unemployment came through. I informed Cash Time representatives that I needed to make payment arrangements to pay my rent. I did tell them I would make $30 dollar payments each week. However, on or about September 4th, 2013 I did obtain employment through [redacted] working at home. I had to purchased a USB headset and a USB flashdrive to begin training on September 9, 2013. I went in and spoke to [redacted] and told him why I couldn't pay $30 that week. I told him that I did not know what my pay schedule was at that time.

On or about September 7, 2013, I told Phenix that my neighbor, [redacted], who is also a customer of theirs would call in a payment in for the amount of $100. I was told he had to come in to pay. Mr. [redacted] had to leave the country and go to Canada on a family emergency because his mother was in critical condition in the hospital and that he could not come in to pay.

I spoke to another title company on or about September 7, 2013 to refinance my title loan for lower payments and lower interest. And, to give me some leeway until I received my first paycheck with [redacted] I called Phenix and told her my friend would not be wiring me $100 that I found another title loan company to refinance my current title loan with Cash Time. [redacted] was not opened on Sundays and I would have to go the next day. Phoenix had terrible terrential rain downpours and flooding everywhere that Monday, Sept 9, 2013. I decided to wait until the rain subsided and then go to [redacted] located on 93rd Ave and Northern in Glendale. After the rain finally let up, I went to leave and my car was gone. It had been repoed.

Response:

In light of Ms. [redacted]'s response to Cash Time's proposed action, I would like to reiterate Cash Time's position. Ms. [redacted] currently has an outstanding loan with Cash Time [redacted] Loans, Inc. Because Ms. [redacted] failed to abide by the terms of her contract and make payments as agreed upon, Cash Time repossessed her vehicle, as is its right under Arizona state law.

At this point, Ms. [redacted] has two options. She can either bring her account up to date by paying the balance of her scheduled payments or Cash Time will sell the vehicle at auction, satisfy her debt with the sale proceeds, and return to Ms. [redacted] any surplus that the auction yields.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First of all, after I advised Cash Time that I finally did get a job, I advised [redacted], Assistant Manager, on September 7th, 2013 in person that I was to begin employment with [redacted] on September 9th, 2013. I advised Mr. [redacted] that I didn't know the payroll period as of that time and I would let Cash Time know when my pay periods were and I would bring my account up to date when I knew.

Secondly, the debt collection manager,( out of spite), called in my car for repossession AFTER I told her I secured a title loan with another company. Pheniix, the debt collection manager, KNEW that Cash Time would have been PAID IN FULL within 48 hours from [redacted], the place that had approved me to refinance my title loan with them. Cash Time would have lost my account and my money and Phenix had the power to not let that happen.

During my unemployment, I was in constant communication with Cash Time, either by phone or in person. I NEVER neglected my account with them. I spoke or went in person at once or twice a week as I did not want to lose my car. According to Arizona Statutes, I defaulted on my loan which gives [redacted] Companies like Cash Time the right to repossess the vehicle. As human beings, they are ruthless and heartless!! I cannot affort to by my balance of my account in full with them. I do not make enough money to do that. I could bring my payments up to date plus pay 3 additional payments ahead, less ALL REPOSSESS FEES, TOWING FEES, ETC.

Final Offer from Business:

Unfortunately at this point in time, Ms. [redacted]’s vehicle has already been sold at auction. Cash Time followed Arizona state law and company protocol, by giving Ms. [redacted] notice of sale at least 10 days prior to the auction and allowing her the opportunity to redeem the vehicle by bringing her account up to date. When this did not occur, the vehicle was sold at auction on October 1, 2013.

The final accounting of the auction sale is as follows. Ms. [redacted] is more than welcome to request a copy of the official paperwork. The vehicle sold for $1,400.00. Fees associated with the auction were $120.00. Thus, Cash Time received $1,280 in proceeds from the sale.

At the time of the sale, Ms. [redacted]’s principle balance was $1,395.00. Consequently, after applying the proceeds from the sale to her account, Ms. [redacted] still has an outstanding balance of $195.00, in addition to the interest and repossession fees that have accrued on the account.

In the spirit of compromise, Cash Time is willing to make a good faith offer to Ms. [redacted]. In order to put this matter to rest, Cash Time will waive the remaining portion of Ms. [redacted]’s principle balance and also waive any and all interest and repossession fees that have accrued over the course of her dealings with Cash Time.

Horrible experience. I placed my money order in the drop box. Received a call stating I DID NOT make a payment and the rep was rude. I spoke to the collections manager who stated he was the store manager. He told me to bring the receipt to the money order the falling business day which is today. Today I was charged again for my payment. I called the company with no help. The manager there is [redacted]. I called western union only to find out the money was never cashed. The rep at Cash Time acted if I was stupid and said maybe I placed it in a drop box at a different location. Poor customer service. So no my money order that I placed in the drop box is missing which means I will have to pay an additional $15 to get it refunded. From now on I WILL NOT use the drop box of theirs. This has been a horrible experience with no resolve on the other end.

I fall behind my title loan payment. I spoke with Phoenix L[redacted] who said she was happy to help which is a lie. I was on 16days when I spoke with Phoenix L[redacted]. Told her I was getting ready to start a new job. I had to buy school supplies for my child. I could even afford food and had to go get a food box. I told I be in on Aug. 17 to make up past payment which was only $80.00. She told she would note my case. The next morning I woke up to no car. no warning of them taken my car. Them also being accreditation with the Revdex.com is bad thing they pay the Revdex.com for them to have a good score. Now my loan was for $500.00 Now they want 936.36 plus 15 storage fee all upfront before I can get the car back. $80.00 with a promise to pay on aug 17 of the $80.00 plus current payment. Now I'm in a bigger hole and no way to get my car out because they are not welling to work with me. Do not use cash time loan center they are only out to hurt you.
