Our company originally set up our website with carsforsale.com. They haven't given us our web domain.
Our company originally set up our website with carsforsale.com. They haven't given us our web domain. They said they purchased that domain and said that they review and release domains quarterly every year. We purchased that product and they will not allow us to have our website domain. We have been on the phone with them all day and have spoken through email.

Desired Outcome

We are just wanting our domain names.

Carsforsale.com Response • Feb 04, 2020

The domain has been unlocked and the code to unlock and transfer the domain has been sent to the dealership account owner. The requester now has full access to do whatever is desired with that domain. This request was completed the next business day from the initial request.

Carsfor sale charged us the monthly fee $*** and then $*** to get our domain. They were very unprofessional and would never call me back from their domains department.

Carsforsale.com Response • Feb 06, 2020

To recap the domain has been released and instructions have been provide to the dealer on how to obtain the domain. This domain is no longer controlled by Carforsale.com

Our dealership signed up to list our inventory with Carsforsale.com and through the three month trial (October, Nov. and December) they generated 2 leads for our dealership, one was spam (zero sold). That is not my complaint. My complaint is I told my point of contact person that I would not renew our subscription in December come the following year in January 2020. I told them over the phone in December. We got a bill in January and upon talking to them again they said I did not email or talk to the billing account to cancel our subscription and they are charging us again for January and threatening to charge us again in February if our remaining balance isn't paid. So not only was it a product that literally didn't generate anything, but we are forced to pay another month because I didn't email any or call the billing department to officially cancel. I am very disgusted by this as I feel they are scamming us out of another monthly payment for a product/service that was literally useless.

Carsforsale.com did not disclose to me that *** wipes out my photos on the website if uploaded through the website. Took me hours of work.
It was on *** that I took the time of the day to upload A LOT of photos on the website. (carsforsale.com) took me a couple of hours. Carsforsale.com did not disclose that if I did that, *** will wipe it all out the next day. I have been advertising on *** for my website ever since I uploaded all those photos.

Come to find out, on the ***, I looked at my photos on the website and only seen 1 photo for each vehicle.

I am paying $*** a month for their services. I EXPECT to at least get a disclosure about this issue before it happens then I wouldn't have wasted my time.

I spoke to a rep on the *** about this issue and explained to her my frustartion. She basically told me that she couldn't help other than turn off the *** automatic update of the photos.

Desired Outcome

A billing adjustment is fair. I advertised on *** for nothing. I also wasted my time on carsforsale.com uploading photos. and i also have to reupload all the photos.

Carsforsale.com Response • Aug 01, 2019

Dear Revdex.com & ***, our apologies on any miscommunication on how the *** import feed will run. For a majority of our dealers that utilize *** as an import to Carforsale.com the file is an import with all details provided including descriptions and pictures. This is unique scenario in which the Dealer wanted to add pictures after we received the *** import feed. Once we understood the Dealer's needs we were able to update settings to not over ride changes with new pictures and descriptions that might be added. We value our dealer and his input and want to make sure this is rectified. We will be issuing *** a credit for the month & we have changed the feed allow the pictures to be loaded per the Dealer's request. If for any reason the pictures are now deleted by *** the Dealer will need to follow-up with *** directly as we do not control these settings.

Problem with Product/Service
I was scammed after finding a vehicle on carsforsale.com and now it's being re-advertised again on their website.
Early ***, I found a *** online whilst browsing thru carsforsale.com. I enquired about this vehicle thru your website and the the seller contacted me a week later where an agreement was made for purchasing & transportation of said vehicle. Payment of $***USD was made and after sending the money, I found out it as a SCAM!!
This is the second complaint being made against your company regarding being scammed for a vehicle purchased.

Desired Outcome

Carsforsale.com should be held accountable for these SCAM incidents!! I purchased the vehicle from their website and contacted the seller through the carsforsale.com's website. Carsforsale.com should have a policy in place to contact and warned warn customers if they suspect a seller/advertisement is a scammer/scam; if said policy was implemented it could have prevented me from being scammed. Thanks to them, I lost $***USD and I want my money to be reimbursed to me.

Carsforsale.com Response

Carsforsale.com provide websites to dealers nationwide. Carsforsale.com list's dealers inventory for those dealers. Please work with dealer who advertised the scam and provide the URL link to this listing for further follow up.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Carsforsale.com is an online website that allows cars dealers as well as private sellers to advertise on their website which is accessible worldwide. They don't protect their consumers, they protect themselves as well as the scammed!!

Carsforsale.com Response

As an advertising company Carsforsale.com provides a listing platform for car dealers nationwide. If a car is purchased from a flyer at grocery store or thru a social media outlet the transaction is between the buyer and seller.

Will never release domain name
In ***, we decided we wanted to cancel our account with carsforsale.com. We inquired about our domain name being released so we could try to make sure it was easy for our customers to find us. We were told that domain releases were done quarterly, after being reviewed by their legal department and that we would have to provide our dealer license, our account couldn't have had an outstanding balance, and if we had a trademark on our domain, they would need that ID number as well. On ***, I sent over our dealer's license. We shouldn't have had an outstanding balance, due to us being told our account was paid up to a certain date and would be no longer active after that date. We don't have a trademark on our domain name, which we were told isn't NECESSARY, so there was no ID number to provide for that. Checked on the status of the release on *** and was told that it was "pending". Emailed them once more on *** and we were told to "please see email from ***" about the documents needed to process our request, which I had already provided. We are getting nowhere with this request, this company shouldn't have any use for that domain, and their customer service is horrible.

Desired Outcome

We are just looking to finally have our domain released so we can purchase it and be done with this matter. We are going on the 2nd quarter since our request was submitted.

Carsforsale.com Response

Upon inception of service all customers are given the opportunity to purchase and or provide their own domain name. This information was provided to ***, owner of of ***.

As a courtesy to our customers carsforsale.com offers to provide the domain as part of our domain rental, website and on-line advertising package. When cancelling our services everything is cancelled including the use of the domain.

As domains are considered legal property -all request for transfer of ownership are reviewed and approved by our legal counsel. Due to the large volume of domains that Carsforsale.com owns and administrates, domain transfer reviews are done quarterly and reviewed based on submission date. All information requested from the customer is part of the review process. If a customer has a federal trademark on the name that would precede our ownership claim, which is why we ask the question. When the required information from the customer isn't received in a timely manner, the review date then falls into the next quarter. Which is what happened in this case.

Sent leads to our competitor and then charged us for them for 3 years. Never called to check in with our dealership, worst 3rd party customer servic
Our dealership has been paying this company for three years and never received leads, customer service, sent leads to our competition, and never gave us access to the leads dashboard. We called to report this huge mistake by their company and was told that they did nothing wrong. The company said that it does not check in on their clients and basically just collects a paycheck. I've worked with every vendor in the automotive industry and never came across a company that wouldn't have a rep email/text/call/drop by sometime to check in on their clients. They were sending the leads to a cell phone that belonged to our main competitor and on top of that they were sending email leads to a broken email address which everyone knows that they were getting emails back telling them that it was a broken email address. They take no responsibility for this huge mistake, or offer any refund of any kind.

Desired Outcome

We would like a full refund for our account that was never setup correctly, never given any customer service, and sent leads to our main competition which their is no telling how much that cost in lost business.

Carsforsale.com Response

Account was set up with the dealer on ***. The authorized users (*** & ***) requested the leads be set up to be sent to a provided email address that they provided. At some point those employees left the business. At that time dealership could have logged in and changed where the leads were directed and or called Carsforsale.com and we would have assisted with sitting up a new destination or the account could have been cancelled. The account could have been cancelled or had the contacts updated at any time. Carsforsale does not know if resources are hired or fired at dealership and it is the dealerships responsibility to manage how and where their leads are sent to.

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
You would be correct if the dealership had access to the dashboard. *** and *** did not have access to the dashboard and nor did anybody at this dealership. Carsforsale.com has not shown or ever gave our dealership any type of customer service. Your company is the only 3rd party company that we have come across that shows absolutely 0 concern of how your leads are doing or how the dealership is doing. We haven't heard from your company since we signed the contract and the only communication has been between you and our accounting department which only happened recently because we needed information from you. This is not how you treat customers or retain customers.

listed for $*** on website; dealer claims same vehicle is +$***. I want advertised price.
I am looking for a ***. Carsforsale.org had a *** (100 miles) Stock# *** listed at $*** NEW from *** in ***. I called *** and was told by a salesman (*** on ***) that the car was in their stock for over $***. I don't know who is to blame for the error in the listing price on Carsforsale.org, and I don't care. The car is being advertised for $*** and that is what I want to pay. What is my next step? *** is aware and Carsforsale.com has been notified via their online contact email form.

Desired Outcome

I want to purchase the *** with 100 miles, *** Stock# *** - or a comparable vehicle, for the advertised price.
