I am in receipt of your correspondence dated May 25, in reference
to Case No*** *** ***, and write to respond accordinglyPlease accept this correspondence as my formal response to the complaint filed by Mr***
I have reviewed the comments by Mr*** on the reverse of your May 25, correspondence, and it appears that Mr*** was under the belief that our consultative services were "covered" under an apparent agreement he had with UBSApart from offering clients consultative services on a referral basis, our firm has no fee arrangement of any sort with UBS, nor do we have any formal professional affiliation with UBS, and thus I did not know of Mr***'s understanding that my services would be "covered" until receiving his complaint with his check payment
Our firm promptly sent a letter to Mr*** on May 13, 2016, a copy of which I have enclosed herewith (said letter erroneously has the year listed as instead of 2016), in light of the misunderstanding that appears to exist between our firm and Mr*** as it pertains to fees for services rendered, and with that letter, I returned to Mr*** his payment, in full, for the services rendered in furtherance of his estate planningAs you can see, I also indicated to Mr*** that should he desire to complete the planning we previously discussed and prepared for him, we will do so at no charge, as it has long been our firm's method of doing business that a misunderstanding in billing will always be resolved to the client's satisfactionWe believe a full refund to Mr*** accomplishes this objective, especially in light of these circumstances
