Carolina Glass & Mirror performed a service and assessed a charge without prior approval. On 9/3/15, Carolina Glass & Mirror was called by our contractor to evaluate and replace a door closer. As we have occupied our space less than 1 year, I did not feel there would be a charge, as other repairs have been done on our space free of charge. One door closer was replaced, and one was repaired, and a charge of $438.04 has been assessed. Prior to the work, no estimate was provided, and had we known the charge, we would have postponed the service. We have had conversations with Carolina Glass & Mirror, who understandably want to be paid, but there was no written or verbal agreement about the charge prior to it having taken place. Our cash flow is limited at this time, and request to delay payment was denied. Desired SettlementOur request is to allow the bill to be paid by the end of 2015. Business Response Carolina Glass & Mirror is willing to work with this client and delay receipt of full payment until the end of the year. We believe there were some communication issues that created this situation. We did not do the original installation of the doctor's door, so there was no reason for us to consider the repairs to be warranty work. An estimate was not requested prior to the work; we were simply called to repair the broken door, which we did.We ask that the doctor pay a good faith deposit of $100.00 that will be applied to the invoice total of $438.04, leaving a balance of $338.04 to be paid by 12/31/15. If the doctor's cash flow allows, additional partial payments before the end of the year would be appreciated.Consumer Response This is agreeable to me. I apologize for my part in the miscommunication. The initial payment will go out today, with completion as soon as possible, and definitely before 12/31/15. Many thanks for working with me.
