Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2016/07/22) */
We have verified through our financial and order records that the appropriate charge was collected for the order placed by Mrs. [redacted].
Mrs. [redacted] has not contacted us regarding this issue. We have attempted to contact her on three...
occasions since receiving notification of this complaint and there has been no response.
The order in question was placed online through our website. When a customer places an order via the internet, whether it be from our company or any other that participates in online ordering, the financial institution they use reserves the right to place funds 'on hold' to cover the purchase. This sometimes appears as a pending charge when the customer views their bank account. Once our company receives the order we submit the actual charges for the product.
Because it can sometimes take the financial institution several business days to release the funds that were placed on hold, it can appear to the customer that there are multiple charges. The amount of time that it takes for the release of the hold depends on the financial institution and we have neither the power to control or expedite that time frame. Any questions about a delay in releasing those funds should be directed to the financial institution.
We would be happy to discuss this with Mrs. [redacted] and answer any further questions she may have.
