Carolina Cars, Inc. [redacted] Revdex.com 2800 Euclid Avenue Cleveland, OH 44115 Attn: [redacted] Dear [redacted] Allen D[redacted]"1""t bought a car from Carolina Cars on 11-05-2016. At that time he test drove 2 or 3 cars and picked the Rendezvous. No work was promised at the time and he bought the car "as is" with nothing promised and nothing owed. [redacted] came back to the dealership a week later and said he heard a noise in the right front end. I drove the car and did notice the same and on 11-15-2016 I had my mechanic put a new wheel bearing on the right front side. I also put brake pads on the front and rear. He left happy. He returned a couple days later and said he needed a tire. I shared the cost of the tire with him and told him where to go to get a reliable lightly used tire. He was very happy and went to the place I recommended. [redacted] showed up at the dealership on 03-01-2017 and said he needed a new control arm and did not have the money for it. 1 told him of the work I did 10 days after he bought the car and also reminded him of the tire I helped him out with. He wanted me to pay for him to get the control arm fixed and I told him no. The car was bought "as-is" from me with no guarantees either written or implied and he has a service contract to cover the powertrain --engine, transmission, and drive axle-- that is provided by an outside service provider. The control arm is not a covered component. In short, he told me he does not have the money to fix and he told me the finance company told him to come back to me and I would pay for it. I replied that no lender would tell him to go back to the dealer and have the dealer pay. Cars are sold as-is and if something is missed in our safety inspection, I help with advice and repair shops at discounted rates. I believe that Carolina Cars went above and beyond to satisfy this customer but with any used vehicle, there is a limit to what is feasible concerning ongoing repair work. Sincerely, [redacted]
