Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2015/12/02) */
We were able to get the vendor to take the clutch back since there were no signs of failure, for a refund. We reached out to the customer on 12/2/2015, and a check in the amount of $458.54 will be issued to the customer to resolve the issue in...
full.
Mrs. [redacted] was able to bring the vehicle in for us to show her and explain the repairs that were performed. I believe after showing her the repairs, she understood there was a misunderstanding of the parts that had been removed and replaced. However, we were able to help her get the...
repairs within her budget to resolve the issues. Car-X feels all issues have been resolved.

On 11/28 Mrs [redacted] came into the Car-X location in Florissant for a no start issues. Car X recommended a ignition switch and a battery replacement. Mrs [redacted] authorized the ignition switch repair and declined the battery replacement at that...
time. On 11/30 Mrs [redacted] called the store stating her car would not start. Car X offered to pay for the tow if the repair was a related to the repair visit on 11/28, she agreed. Car X dispatched a tow service to Mrs [redacted] location to determine it only needed a jump start to tho the battery we had told her previously was needing replacement and declined to have us repair. Mrs [redacted] refused to pay the tow service and Car-X resulted in having to pay for the jump start which was not our liability. I have reviewed our security video footage and there was never any "angry" conversation with our employees and Mrs. [redacted].
On 07/19/2016 Mr. [redacted] brought his 2001 Cadillac with 174,436 miles into our location at [redacted] to have a cooling system check. We performed the cooling system check to conclude that there was a massive leak at the water pump. It was also noted that the vehicle was...
running very rough and had multiple engine codes in the system. Mr. [redacted] was informed that we would need to replace the water pump, thermostat, and spark plugs before we could go any further. The repairs were finished and the ticket was noted and signed by Mr. [redacted] that the vehicle still required attention and was running rough. The customer decided to pick the vehicle up and continued to driving regardless. The vehicle overheated while the customer was driving it. When the vehicle returned to the shop all repairs performed were in good working order. However driving the vehicle in the condition it left caused an issue internally within the engine. Car X feels there is no basis to except any liabilities on this matter.

I am rejecting this response because: they only give you a estimate after the work is completed. They never gave us a printed estimate before we agreed to have the work done.

I have called and left a message for the customer to contact me about the issues to try and get it resolved. My Name is [redacted] F. and my number is [redacted], please call and we can work together to resolve the issue. Thanks,
I brought my car in specifically for a non starting issue on 9/17/15, rather than a noise and a non starting issue. I did not take it in for a noise issue. They found an issue in the hose, and assured me that fixing that would fix the issue. The non-starting issue was not fixed. They claimed they fixed the window and charged me for it. Last time I picked the car up from there, I was told there was never an issue with the window. Why was I charged for that then? The original issue of the car not starting was never fixed.
I called the customer to inform him that we would be interested in diagnosing the vehicle at "no charge" if he was still having an issue. Also the part we installed carries a 12 month/ 12,000 miles so it would be replaced free of charge parts and labor. When I called, he informed me that...
he no longer has the vehicle. Car-X feels there is no basis for a refund.
