I ordered a replacement engine for an 07 Kia Sportage for a customer who has cancer and needed transportation to and from chemo treatments. Took over a month that to get the engine ( after repeated calls and requests for a shipping confirmation. Justin was polite but wasn't forthcoming with why it's taken? so long. Customer missed several treatments in this process. Last week I finally get the engine and in the process of replacing the old one I found the timing belt cover was wore through in a couple spots. When I took the cover off I saw the timing belt was in bad shape and I couldn't trust it wouldn't leave this lady roadside while she was going to treatment so I contacted the customer service department only to be told that their 5yr / 50,000 mile warranty did y apply to this particular engine. Paid over $2000 for this engine only to realize it's not just the belt but the engine only turns over halfway. Wasted 2 grand on junk. Needless to say I lost a valued customer and friend as well as left a cancer patient on foot to try and get to treatments over 100 miles from her home. No talk about refunds or swapping out the bad for a good. Basically was told I'm up the creek without a paddle. What happened to their warranty ? Why do t they keep their word and stand by their products ? Never gonna a buy from them again and have advised my mechanic community online to do the same. Others in that community have also had bad experiences with this company and are in about the same shoes

I bought a re-manufactured motor from CAR PART PLANET Order # 145001541 | Oct 29, 2018 12:35:53 PM paid $2723.00.It was installed into my Suzuki by The Suzuki dealer the car was bought from City Suzuki and the only people to work on it besides oil and tire changes.
I bought this motor under the assumption their 5 year warranty on their website was legitimate as confirmed in my phone order.
When someone calls *** the automated menu for CAR PARTS PLANET says customer service is their number one priority.
Apparently I was sent the wrong motor to start with and my mechanic and myself were lead to believe I would have no problems. I suggested swapping the motor for the correct one and in a call to customer service was again assured this motor would be fine. The over the phone order got my contact email wrong as well.
My dealership noted on my invoice I was sent a motor from a GM car with an extra hole in the block that needed to be plugged. Apparently The wrong part but CAR PART PLANET said to City Suzuki and myself this would be just fine.
This motor leaked from another spot the "rear main seal" since the day I pulled out from the paid repairs 11/27/18 for $1929.20.
I have tried to contact CAR PART PLANET and they do not respond.
When I call customer service I am told to go to the warranty section of their web site. I did this and attached copies of their invoice, one my dealership who installed it 11/27/18, and an estimate to repair the leaking rear main seal leaking since installed 12/12/18 $1262.88.
I am told by my dealership the rear main seal is part of the motor assembly I purchased when I obtained the long block re-manufactured motor.
After no reply for my warranty, I went to the CAR PARTS PLANET site and requested contact at "contact us" and still no reply.
I have since disputed this charge with my credit card company Capital One 1/8/19 .
To this point I have spent $2723.00 for the motor, $1929.20 to install it and $1006.83 for car rental fees based on the assurances of the salesman on the phone when I called to place my order and their reply's to followup calls. I would have canceled the order otherwise.
Total spent to date 5659.03...not including towing. I feel mislead, given unfulfilled promises and assurances ,ripped off and or cheated.
I would like the engine warranty repaired at no additional cost or to be refunded the repair bill once completed.
I ordered a transmission from Car Parts Planet, it didn't show up for almost 2 months. When it finally showed up, the shop called and told us there was black oil pouring from it, but as long as nothing else was wrong he could clean it up and put in my car.
Next call I got was to inform me, I was sent a broken transmission missing all but two gears. I called, received an apology and was told the new one was on the way. I went ahead and ate the labor fees for the first transmission swap, returned the broken one, received the new one, AGAIN paid for the transmission to be put in, and again got a call that this too was a broken transmission. I called, told them another broken transmission was sold to me and I wanted a full return plus labor fees.
Now they won't return calls or take the broken junk they sold to me.
I'm now out $2000 dollars, plus the new transmission I had to go somewhere else for and pay them, and again labor fee's to the shop. Time to take legal action unfortunately.
Our issues were with delivery, customer service, and then their refund process. My husband and I ordered a $2025 engine, we were told it would be delivered on a specific date, but it wasn't delivered until two weeks after the specified date. Once we finally recieved the engine we found it was in worse condition than our current engine (which has 400,000 miles on it) and came up with and alternate plan to rebuild an engine for our truck. So we contacted them for a refund.
During the times we waited for the original delivery and the return pickup we contacted their office several times. Each time my husband was told "we'll call you back as soon as we know"... they didn't call back. We were told we'd have to pay a 25% restock fee and shipping for the return. I told them it was ridiculous that we had to pay for shipping after all this waiting and inconvenience. So she offered to remove the shipping fee and we just had to pay the $500 restock fee. After we waited another two weeks for them to pick up the engine I contacted their office again to make a complaint with management. I tried to explain to the manager that we felt taken advantage of and were disappointed with the representatives we spoke with over the past two months. She then proceeded to yell at me and told me "I was lucky they were picking the engine up at all" and she revoked her offer to cover return shipping and hung up on me. It was The WORST interaction I've EVER had with a business. I will never use this company again. I've worked in customer service for a decade and I've NEVER been treated or treated someone else the way this "manager" treated me. We essentially paid $700 for a terrible experience and for an engine they'll turn around and charge someone else $2000 for... buyer beware.
