Dear Ms [redacted],
Car Kings International Corporation has asked me to respond to your letter of September 29, 2014.
Ms [redacted] first approached Car Kings with a 2002 [redacted] with...
approximate mileage of 160,000 miles in February 2014 seeking a different vehicle that consumed less fuel.
She advised Car Kings that there was an outstanding title loan on the vehicle and Mr [redacted] paid off that title loan for $1,500.00 securing a clean title to the motor vehicle which was assigned by Ms [redacted] to Car Kings. It turned out that [redacted] had a bad transmission which Mr [redacted] has paid $1,600.00 to repair.
Mr [redacted] offered to exchange the [redacted] for a 2006 [redacted] with a gross sales price of $4,209.00. This took place on February 28, 2014 and Ms [redacted] paid no money at the time of that transfer.
Prior to delivery of the [redacted] to Ms [redacted], it was inspected for her by a mechanic of her choice, whom Mr [redacted] heard tell her it was in good condition.
Ten days later on March 9, 2014 Ms [redacted] drove the vehicle back to Car Kings and complained of several defects, most notably the heater was not functioning.
Despite the fact that Ms [redacted] had paid no money for the [redacted] and had purchased the [redacted] "AS IS — NO WARRANTY", Mr [redacted] permitted her to exchange the [redacted] for a 2001 [redacted]
The [redacted] was similarly delivered to Ms [redacted] in exchange for the [redacted] for an agreed sales price of $1,000.00 of which she has paid $500.00.
We believe this responds to your request.
