I purchased the vehicle from this mechanic. Transmission went out over a year ago. Many excuses later and I still have no vehicle.I was taking my vehicles to this mechanic and was looking to but another one so my son-in-law could have my old one. He assured me this vehicle was sound so I purchased it for $4000. I had it back in for brakes and a check engine light within two weeks. About 3 months later the transmission starts slipping and goes out. That was in June of 2013. I offered to let him buy it back but he had just moved his shop and couldn't afford it. I even offered to take a loss on it and take $3000. We finally agreed on a price for the repairs and it was supposed to be fixed. I paid a years worth of insurance and had the vehicle tagged but only drove it for about 3 months. It is now August 2014 and now he will not even answer the phone when I call. I have moved since he picked the vehicle up and am an hour away and cannot drive by his shop to try and catch him. I am at a loss as to what to do. I now just want compensated the money I am out. The most recent contact with him was over four weeks ago when a male friend called him from a different number. At that time he assured the repairs would be done in two weeks. The vehicle still has not been moved from where it was towed a year ago.Desired SettlementI now want the full $4000 I paid for the vehicle, $250 for tags and plates, and $384 for the years worth of insurance I paid. Total of $4634.
