C.A.R. and Associates

This outfit called my relative about a 15+ year old credit card debt, demanded 50% of the balance in order to settle it provided payment is made TODAY. The C.A.R. Associates website is ridiculous, as is their paperwork. Website is full of copypasta that appears on other scam websites. Address points to a Regus. No web presence for company with this name other than the generic website with no management photos and bios, etc. All clearly a SCAM.

I'm a private investigator. I've a client who received a phone call followed by a letter, threatening legal action if my client failed to send $1000 to them to settle a warrant out of Tulsa, OK. Their address is a Regus location (temporary office space) and they only have a phone number through them. Suspicious.

I have been receiving numerous phone calls from CAR and Associates claiming that I owe them a large sum of money. They claim this debt is out of [redacted] County PA concerning my name and SSN. I have no idea what this claim is about. I spoke with a gentleman named [redacted] and requested he send me an inquiry of this complaint via my email and he quoted he would send that information within 24 hours. I gave him my email address three days ago and have not received any information on such complaint. I researched the company name via the internet and found numerous complaints against this particular company being a scam. I have not sent them any money, however I am still receiving phone calls from them.
