His biggest failings:
– He didn't install a frame/stud where the glass shower doors would be connectedHe allowed 200lbglass doors to only go into sheetrock with nothing behind itThe glass doors could have fallen and killed usThe glass installers (A Better View) are just as guilty for allowing itAfter months of use, the doors were already starting to move and put focused pressure on some of the shower curb tiles, causing others to pop up
– He didn't waterproof the shower correctlyHe didn't put in a shower pan, he instead used hydroban, but not at the recommended thicknessIt took one crack in the grout for water to penetrate and reach the shower curb stud, which began to blacken and swell
– He ruined $worth of tile when he used the wrong sealant, even though we emailed, printed and discussed the manufacturer's recommended sealer to himThe sealer he wanted to use stained the tile and he wound up sanding the top layer down to fix it
– After the first issue of curb tiles popping up arose, he did the demolition, but then walked out on the jobHe left us waiting for a month with no calls back when we finally decided to hire another contractor
– A proper shower drain wasn't installed
– He never reinstalled the toilet
– He took months instead of the month cited in the contractHe spent only half-days or no days at our house, and often with not proper notice of when he was coming or not coming
