My 2015 *** has had an engine problem that developed about four to five months after I bought the vehicle. the engine is a diesel and sometimes during the regeneration process it barks loudly and the truck shakes quite badly. I purchased the truck from capital on or about December 19 2015. It does not produce any trouble or warning lights during this trouble. I have to pull the truck over idle it for several seconds 15 to 20 I would say then I can go again. Capital has tried to fix it several times to know avail. in the last four months I have replaced 2 rear shocks, pinion seal, water pump, and the radiator. I have estimates on the cost to do this near 4000 dollars. this was covered under warranty however the truck has under 60000 kms.. I can call on several witnesses to verify the trucks engine trouble and Capital failure to fix it. my last visit was May 16, 2018 at which time my truck was gone for another week. on May 23, 2015 *** told me that the engine will be ripped down for the second time to the engine block and rebuilt. this will cost me yet another week of no truck. my truck is used for my construction business and is vital to me. I use to get supplies, pull my trailer for which I told it was the right truck for the job by the salesman at Capital who is no longer employed there. The 3 year bumper to bumper warranty is about to expire and I dread the thought of outrageous repair bills. ***. I have talked to *** a sales manager at Capital to try to work out a solution for a new truck or extended warranty but these have been no compensation for my lost time. I had to argue and complain for several days just to finally speak to *** a manger who offered really no more help. this occurred form may 21, 2015 to current date off and on. I have also reach out to *** a Senior Customer Service Manager at *** of *** XXX-XXX-XXXX ext XXXXX for help as well. The original purchase price of the truck $51,986.48.
i would like to have the truck replaced by a new truck with similar options and color.
I did my research into his truck's service history prior to reaching out to him.He is correct in that the truck has had some service issues and we did offer to repair any future problems as well as provide a replacement vehicle.Ford did offer this gentleman a free extended warranty policy that would provide engine warranty to up to 200,000 khms. however he declined to accept. The notes in the file mentioned that Mr. has sold this vehicle and purchased another truck.I called *** today and he confirmed that he has sold the Ford truck in question.I have apologized on behalf of Capital Ford for the problems that he experienced and offered to help him in the future with any vehicle needs if he so desires.
I bought a pre-owned 2014 *** from Capital Ford Lincoln which I thought was certified. The front page of Capital Ford preowned website suggests (inaccurately) that all of their vehicles are certified. I found out later this was not the case. I signed the paperwork on December 23, 2017 but did have the car in my possession until January 6, 2018. The reason for this was they were installing a car-starter in the vehicle; the salesmen were under the impression that the car had a car-starter (as told to them by the previous owner) but in fact, the starter had been removed by the previous owner. If the service department that checked the car "very thoroughly" did not see that the car starter was removed, how thorough was the inspection? ***. I filed a complaint immediately after purchasing my vehicle with manager *** because I was dissatisfied with the way my trade-in was undervalued, a $635 charge for VIN number engraving had been added to my bill without my knowledge, and I had been told by both *** and *** that I could pay the balance of the vehicle price by credit card, and when I tried I was informed that I could only charge $3000 to my card, no more. The dealership did not allow bigger transactions because they would be charged a service fee. *** apologized to me in an email and the $635 was refunded. I ended up paying $3000 by credit card and the rest by personal cheque.
6 weeks after I purchased the vehicle, the front struts needed to be replaced. I took the car to Capital and refused to pay for the repairs, and to their credit, they paid for it without argument. After I left, the 'knocking sound' of strut damage continued, so I took the car back. They said they did an inspection and could not find anything. The knocking still continues when I drive over bumps. On March 23 I was stranded when my car's clutch stopped working. I took it to my local repair shop in Strasbourg to find that the brake pads needed to be replaced, a $250 bill. Two days later, another strange noise began, and, after getting the car checked, it was discovered there was extensive rust on the brakes that were causing the pads to rub and create a noise. The repair for the rust damage was $98. The brakes were apparently inspected before the sale of the car, but I find it hard to believe if it had been properly inspected that extremely worn brake pads were not noticed. I emailed *** again, and getting no response from him, contacted manager *** with my concerns. *** told me there was nothing more they would do and I should "take responsibility for my car." Granted, I bought a used car because I did not want a car payment, but I never expected to be doing repair after repair within 3 months of purchase. I asked *** to refund me the money I had paid and I would return the car in better shape than it had been sold to me, because of the additional repairs. He vehemently declined, but did offer to sell me a brand new car.
I would like a full refund of $10 085 for the purchase of the *** including the trade-in value of $2000 that was subtracted from the purchase price.
. It is unfortunate that she remains dissatisfied as we have reconditioned the car at an expense of $1914 plus tax prior to sale, as well as paid for after sale repairs that were not mandated by the motor vehicles act.We offered to exchange the vehicle and give her full purchase price towards any unit on our lot which is also not mandated but a service we do offer our clients for a period of 30 days.I am confident we have done as much or more than most dealers would provide. If you require anything further please call me at your convenience.*** Capital Ford Lincoln
