Re: BBB Complaint ID: [redacted] Ms. [redacted] contacted Jonah Water SUD in August regarding the bill due August 15, 2015, for water usage from June 10, to July 10, 2015. The customer service representative instructed Ms. [redacted] on how to... check for a water leak on her side of the meter, and also offered to have the meter reading checked, There is a $25 trip charge for a re-read of a meter, and Ms. [redacted] declined to have the meter re-read. The customer service representative also offered a deferred payment plan in the case that paying the bill would be a financial hardship; the offer of the deferred payment plan was also declined. After receiving the BBB complaint, we waived the $25 trip fee and sent a service technician to re-read the meter and data-log the meter. Both the re-read and the data-log showed that Ms. [redacted] had used the water during the billing period. The service technician was able to show the data-log information to a resident at the address and confirm the water usage. However, Ms. [redacted] was not home at the time and has not returned any of our numerous phone messages to her. In conclusion, the customer did use all of the water in the billing period, and the customer has not responded to numerous attempts to contact her, or to the other offers of assistance. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions regarding this matter.
