I replied to an Ad on Trulia.com for a 2-bedroom apartment on 06/18. I went back to the website on 06/19 and replied again after reflecting on the pictures to see if my property would fit...I'm am certain it will.
I received a call from Alyssa and we discussed the apartment at length. As a precaution, I told her I was typing up notes on our discussion. At the end of the conversation, I read back my notes and she agreed they were correct.
06/21/19 -- I just got back from visiting the apartment. Initially, they showed me a 1-bedroom. I told them I was there to see a 2-bedroom. They had to go back to their office to get keys and came back about 20 minutes later. After viewing the apartment, I was positive toward renting it. When we discussed the price,they said the price was $489/room/person and not for the entire 2-bedroom apartment. I left quite angrily after informing them that their Ad is bait-and-switch.
I sent them an email with a screen capture of the Ad and told them I wasn't sure if I'd report them or not. I have chosen to report them to you only. I wish I could send it to you via this webpage but cannot.

We are responding to the complaint that was received from the Revdex.com. We have attached screenshots of our Trulia advertisement. It does state on the ad that we rent per bedroom. We do not want to appear that we are false advertising and we apologize for any confusion that may have taken place between our staff and Mr. ***.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I notified Trulia (where they posted their property) on 6/24/2019. They reviewed my complaint and said they removed their posting from their site. If you'll notice on the Screenshot_Trulia_Ad.png attachment, the posting was updated 2 days later (06/27/2019). Not only are they deceptive in their original advertisement, but they are liars in their response to you. They updated their posting AFTER I notified them, Trulia, and the Revdex.com.
There is nothing I can do that will affect their business because this is a college town and rentals are hard to come by, but I will notify anybody who will listen what they did the first time and what they did after I notified them that I was contacting you.

I cannot add the attached email to your site. I contacted Trulia (which seems to be Zillow). They removed the Campus Connection posting as proof of their bait-and-switch tactic and deception of updating the site after their ad was pulled. Please add this email to your review as proof that they practice deceptive marketing tactics in the highly competitive rental market in Indiana.Regards
