Camden Monument Place

Review: The leasing manager at Camden Monument Place quoted me a price in person and I applied online for the apartment. The website displayed two prices, the one I was quoted and a higher price. After paying for the deposit, only the higher price displayed when reviewing the lease agreement. I went onsite to speak with the leasing manager and she apologized and said she couldn't change the price. She offered me other incentives to make up for the inconvenience but I decided I didn't want to take the apartment at the higher price so I cancelled my application. They didn't refund my deposit of $500 so I called my CC company and they withdrew the money after trying to contact them with no response. 2 months later I got a collection letter from a company trying to collect the $500 for Camden Monument Place. They never responded to my emails or calls, nor the attempt to contact them from my CC company. They also never tried to reach me about the payment yet they sent me straight to collections after an issue that was caused due to their miss-advertising. They are cheating people out of their money and causing problems for them. I ended up paying the $500 to the collections company because I have excellent credit and don't want it jeopardized, but I am filing a complaint to get my money back from them.Desired Settlement: I want the $500 refunded to me. The website has miss-advertising and is misleading. The "gotchas" are not clear and it causes people to pay and agree to invalid terms.
