Review: On Oct 25, 2012. Hurricane Sandy hit [redacted] New Jersey. The areawhere I live got flooded. My [redacted] was damaged during this time.Around Dec 15, 2012 I went to [redacted] Auto Repairs in [redacted] NJto get an estimate on how much it was going to cost to fixmy 1998 [redacted]. [redacted] co-owner of the shop, gave mean estimate of approximately $1850.00 for a used transmission.Dec 18,2012 my truck was in his shop. Didn't get the truck backuntil Dec 27,2012. On Jan 9 ,2013. Started having problems with the truck.My 17yr old son and my younger son and I were driving down [redacted]in [redacted] the driveshaft comes off while in motion. Doing approximately 25mph down the road. I then called [redacted] explained what happened and he sent a towtruck to pick up me and my two sons up. When we got to the shop and[redacted] saw that the part came off, he said it wasn't his fault and thenblamed it on my son saying he was driving fast. [redacted] told me thatthe rear differential was gone. Which locked the rear brakes when thedriveshaft came out. It was going to cost me another $1800 to fix. I henTold [redacted] the driveshaft wasn't not properly installed. [redacted] stillclaims it wasn't his shop fault. My son and I pushed the truck home because there was no resolve. From my experience drive shafts don't just fall off especially if they are installed properly. Mr. [redacted] was paid however my truck is not working and has yet to be prepared. I would greatly appreciate the shop picking the truck up and replacing the driveshaft. This is something that can not be broken on a car. This had to be installed incorrectly and since Mr. [redacted] was the repairman I believe he should be the one responsible for the repair. It's not enough to say there I fixed it and you broke it. That's bad business. Payment was exchanged and I have been taken advantage of with no working vehicle to date. In any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.Desired Settlement: I would like for [redacted] to tow the truck back to his shop and supply all necessary parts and repair the drive shaft as he was originally suppose to do.
