Review: I signed up for insurance through this company and agreed to automatic debit from my checking account. On the date of the last renewal, I mailed a form asking them to stop the service since I am no longer an insurance agent. Despite returning the form per their instruction they continued to bill. I contacted them through phone and email but they continue to bill me. I need this service stopped.Desired Settlement: Stop te service and refund 6 months of premiums.

Response:
To Whom It May Concern,
This is in response to the complaint initiated by [redacted] H [redacted] regarding policy number CAP [redacted]. On August 30, 2013, [redacted]’ E&O Insurance renewed by automatic renewal. On September 9, 2013 [redacted] sent an email to CalSurance advising that he returned the opt letter to stop his errors and omissions coverage from renewing, however it had still been renewed. The form was not received at CalSurance as advised by [redacted]. The manager of the Customer Service Department responded to [redacted]’ email on September 9, 2013 with complete instructions on how to cancel his errors and omissions coverage along with direct contact info for the supervisor. The necessary documents were still not received to cancel the coverage. On March 4, 2014 [redacted] called to question why debits were still coming out of their account for E&O coverage when it had been cancelled in September. She was advised that no documentation to cancel this coverage had been received. On March 4, 2014 [redacted] sent his request via an email attachment requesting coverage be cancelled and a refund issued once it was received and cancellation was approved effective as of March 4, 2014 a refund was issued for $66.16. In consideration of Mr. [redacted]’ original request, we will process a flat cancellation and the remaining premium for the September 1, 2013 policy will be refunded immediately.

Review: I notified CalSurance not to renew my E&O coverage for the amount of $435 in advance of their notice that it would auto renew on the 27th of December. I spoke to Carol on the 26th sent her a letter via fax with my request on the 26th, and she said that it would not be a problem. On the 31st a $435 dollar payment came across my account and overdrafted the account causing me to have to borrow money outside the business and deposit it so that I didn't have several hundred dollars in late fees. I called to ask them why they overdrew my account and they said that they did not get the fax, despite carol confirming it, and that I would have to send the request in writing again and it would be 2-3 business days for the processing of the refund. It is now 4 business days after and they will not return my call and their customer service number says that they will call back in 4 hours or less if you leave a message, which they did not.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of any an all money due, and for this to be noted with the Revdex.com.

To Whom It May Concern,
In
response to the complaint initiated by [redacted] regarding policy number
[redacted]-LH. On January 29, 2013, [redacted] enrolled in an E&O
Insurance program with an automatic renewal feature. On December 6, 2013 he
received instructions via email and mail on how to cancel the automatic renewal
that would take place on December 27, 2013. The materials clearly stated that
he must respond in writing or by visiting out website by December 26, 2013. On December
27, 2013, Mr. [redacted] called and requested that his coverage be cancelled and he
was advised by a Customer Service Represented at CalSurance that his request
needed to be submitted in writing. The policy renewed on December 27, 2013 and
a charge of $435.00 for the policy renewal was posted as his request in writing
to cancel the policy had not been received by the time of the debit. The
request to cancel the policy was received on December 30, 2013 and the refund
of $435.00 was sent back to the bank account on file per the request of Mr.
[redacted] on January 6, 2014. However on January 8, 2014 CalSurance received
notification from Mr. [redacted]’s bank the initial attempt to collect the amount
$435.00 from his bank account was unsuccessful as funds were not available and
or insufficient. In conclusion, Mr. [redacted] received a refund of premium that was
never successfully collected from his bank account. Mr. [redacted] has not responded
to CalSurance’s attempts to contact him to remedy this matter.
