When the guest contacted me about the issues with the repairs my first impulse was to get the vehicle back into the shop as soon as possible to get the lights & brake issues diagnosedBecause the issues were brake related I did not want Miss [redacted] to drive her vehicle inI set up a tow with a sublet vendor to have the vehicle brought in at my expenseI also offered Miss [redacted] a free rental vehicle while the vehicle was in the shop so as not to interrupt her work & family schedule While at the shop, Miss [redacted] & I went over the repairs with the estimate in hand so I could answer any questions she hadIn regards to the question of "Mechanical" work done to the vehiclelabor unit was charged out, at mechanical time (industry standard), to "re-set codes"This is an operation that needs to be performed on ANY Mercedes (per Mercedes repair guidelines) when there is an electrical connection unpluggedThis is the case in her specific repair as the main computer will store codes stating there was a disruption to the systemThese codes will stay there as "current or stored codes" until they are re-set When asked about the scratches on her hood my response was not simply "it's because your car is black"I explained to her that it takes a total of days for clear coat to completely cure and, while it is dry & ok to the touch, the clear coat may remain somewhat soft during this timeI further explained that there may have been microscopic dirt particles in the towel when drying her vehicle at the shop that could have caused the hairline scratchesBecause we noticed small dents that were not repaired, I offered to re-repair & re-paint her hood and, after days cure time, re-polish her hood to remove any imperfectionsMy statement about her vehicle color was that black vehicles show more imperfections & that's why it seems to stand out While she was here we plugged in our Mercedes computer to pull & read all trouble codesThere are types of codes"current", meaning the codes are new, or "stored", meaning the codes are oldWhile the vehicle had no current codes, it did have stored codes stating an issue with the right front brakes, wheel & tireWhen I asked Miss [redacted] if she has any tire or brake work done she became very defensive that no work had ever been performed on her vehicleI took her to the computer to show her the stored codes & explained to her what the computer was readingShe continued to state no work was done to her vehicle & we are the only people who could have caused the codesI let her know with the type of work that we performed it is impossible for those codes to storeWe asked her permission to test drive the vehicle to see if we were able to duplicate the lights & smoking tiresDuring the test drive, we were not able to replicate the issuesWhile moving the vehicle to the back of the shop, a paper fell out of the door trim panel on the driver’s sideAs my technician picked it up to put it back he noticed it was for a wheel & tire shop and that there was, in fact, work done to the vehicle that had caused these codes to store in the main computer Miss [redacted] states we did not repair hood initially that is falseI have attached a photo of the first repairs to the hood that clearly show that hood primed, prepped & masked for paint In regards to the loss of her parking transponder, this is a non-transferable sticker located on the windshield of the vehicleMiss [redacted] states it was a general contractor at her place of business that damaged & paid for her repairsUltimately, the transponder is part of the loss & should be responsibility of the person paying for the repairs I have attached the following: A photo of the hood after it was repaired & before paint workInvoice showing work done to the right front tire prior to the vehicle being at Caliber Thank you, [redacted] Center Manager Caliber Collision Centers
Good morning, I am working on finding the same genration *** as ** ***. We attempted to move the bed box forward but the gap did not change. The gap is the Same on the orginal side of the truck that we did not fix as well it is the same on the right side which we did fix. we just need to find another truck to measure the gap to see if it is the same for msboulware, which I am working on
