Caldwell Painting

Last week there was a very serious Revdex.com complaint about this fellow, Ron Caldwell, and he was rated C+, but now I see A+.
He surely does not deserve this rating. I gave him a 200.00 deposit for painting and pressure washing. He said he would come in afternoon and would confirm a time first, but showed up unannounced in morning, starting work without permission. I had agreed to give him $1300 at start. He insisted on cash and would not take another good check, stating "he did not wish to add sales tax." He said he is working off the books to cheat the taxes. The contractor license he advertises in the paper expired years ago and has no insurance. He used an unapproved and improper cleaning product, and became very nasty when I objected and requested the recommended type, demanding cash or he would leave. He flooded my garage with fluids. He had no painting contract with him at either time, loudly insisting on cash payment regardless. He wrote me a receipt for the 200 on a scrap of paper that I had to supply him.
I had a bad feeling for him from the start, but he gave me a low-ball price that was attractive. He can quickly become nasty and belligerent, swearing at you, just like was stated in the other Revdex.com complaint. I made it clear I did not wish any workers on the property when I was not there to supervise, but he insisted I go to my bank to get cash while the work took place. I told him that is clearly unacceptable, and he left in a huff, after I requested that he return my deposit. The deposit should rightly be returned since no work was done.
Beware of this fellow. I feel that he is scamming anyone he can.
