CALCOE Federal Credit Union

I went into Calcoe Federal Credit Union at 1209 N 16th Avenue in Yakima Washington to cash a check drawn on their bank and they charged me a ridiculous 1% "non-member fee" to cash the check. They also took forever getting me the money and had to enter all kinds of info including my drivers license and social security number in order to get me the money. I am an accountant and deal with banks on a regular basis and have cashed many checks at many different banks that the checks were drawn on with no hassle and certainly no fees. I didn't trust the person I got the check from that they wouldn't try to cancel the check on me since it was a settlement from a small claims case so I drove all the way from Ellensburg to Yakima specifically to cash the check and insure I got my money. I would never do business with or go to Calcoe Federal Credit Union again! Paying a fee to cash a check drawn on their bank is totally bogus and certainly isn't common practice in the banking industry at all.
