Received business response via email on 9/22/14:
We issued the check August 15th, on Saturday morning August 16th we delivered the check to her house but she wasn't home. All of Saturday and Sunday we were not in the Bay Area, and on...

Monday morning, the 18th, we delivered the check for the second time and she received it. The history of that refrigerator job was: approximately two years ago, we worked on the seal system and we fixed the refrigerator and we charged around $250. We informed the customer, the compressor was overheated and that it would not last long. Then she called us in August to replace the compressor which we had warned her about before. After the second and third visit, we found out, the unit has several, very small leaks in the system. Since this refrigerator was built in and cost over $8000, we offered the customer to replace the whole seal system, which includes, the condenser coil, evaporator coil, heat exchanger, and the sub cooler (attached under the refrigerator, over the drip pan). It is a very complicated job; I only requested an additional $1300, after her refusal, I offered $900, which is only $200 labor for almost an entire day, two man job. And I want to add one more thing, before her decision to replace the compressor and fix the leak, I made two visits, just to recharge the freon for the refrigerator to work temporarily, without charge since we said she was not ready to pay for the compressor job which was $1200. We made more than eight visits, putting over fifteen hours of work and by refunding her $600, we lost almost $200 plus all the time we worked on her refrigerator. Note that almost all her requests were after 6pm. In order to do the work on this refrigerator, three times we pulled originally, not properly installed, 42 in wide refrigerator from the cabinet. One time we started at 6:30pm and finished at almost midnight, and then on the same day, by pulling the refrigerator I hurt my back and it resulted in back pain for several weeks. In conclusion, on this particular job, she is being very unfair.
Sincerely,
