At approximately 8:25am the morning of Tues Oct21 in [redacted] I was commuting via bicycle in the bike lane when one of your trucks pulling a trailer (have pictures) merged into the bike lane to park with me directly to the right of it. I was able to barely get out of harms way by jumping the curb but not before there was contact from the trailer hitting my left leg. if I had went down and been run over I can imagine my 5 children would be fatherless at this time.
Truck info: [redacted] run both a rear flashing red light and a front 500lumen strobe light. Along wtih high visibility clothing. The truck began passing me and then ran me off the road. Given the size and weight of this vehicle I could have been seriously injured and or killed. I confronted the driver who replied he did not see me which is no excuse for negligence and I fully expect professional drivers responsible for such dangerous vehicles on the road to exercise a high level of safety when it comes to human life.
the driver failed to yield and furthermore failed to use blinkers to provide notice of his intent to take my lane.
When confronting the driver who stated he did not see me the passenger in the vehicle began verbally assaulting while I took pictures of the vehicle.
I only wish I had my POV camera on at the time to record the incident so I could get the local law enforcement involved along with the media.
I understand I have little recourse but I did need to share my brush with death this morning with your 5+ ton vehicle.
