On December 5, 2011, I called a phone number from the ads in the Journal/Sentinel advertising for snow shoveling for this winter. A man named [redacted] came to my house and explained the services he would provide, and we agreed that he would shovel the snow on my property for this entire winter season (Dec 2011 through spring 2012). He gave me a paper with his name, the services he would provide, and the telephone number to call if I needed to contact him ###-###-####) and I gave him $450.00 in total payment for the entire snow shoveling season. On January 12, 2012, it snowed for the first time since I paid for these services. No one came to shovel the snow. The next day, I called the phone number Mr. [redacted] gave me. No one answered but I left a message and shortly thereafter, a man called me back. It did not sound like the same man who was at my house. I think it was Mr. [redacted]'s boss. He said he had suffered a stroke and was in a hospital and had to let his people go because of his illness. He said he would have to refund my money to me. I have not received any of the $450.00 back, and I have called him at least 4 times since then (I don't remember the exact dates) and left messages but have not gotten any reply to any of these phone calls.
