C & D Handyman Services

In June of this year 2013 I hired this handyman service to work on my rental property which was advertising in the local Penney Saver. They were suppose to complete a list of work prior to my tenants moving in July 1st. I gave the business owner the house key for his use. He did not attempt to start the work until a day before my tenants moved in. By the time he showed up at the property they had already started to move in. He knew there was a hazard he was suppose to repair before this. Unfortunately/stupidly I paid this person a down payment of $150.00 cash.I had made efforts to get this business owner to follow through with the work he was hired to do in a timely manner. His excuse was he was behind on his jobs.The business owner never even started the work because he didn't want to work with tenants around him. He said the $150.00 was his charge for time put in to go to the store for supplies which he then returned. I had another workman look at his list and told me that most of the work he was going to charge me for wasn't necessary. I continued to ask this business owner for the rental house key back and he made it clear that he did not know what finally happened to it. I personally experienced an irresponsible businessperson. He lost my house key! I am submitting this complaint before this year ends as a perfect example of poor business practices and beware to those of us who become victims of these poor business practices.
