Burley's Auto Reviews (2)

I am writing in response to the complaint ID [redacted] filed to your office concerning a vehicle sold at my business Burley’s Auto ? . The 2003 Suzuki XL? was sold as is, with no   warranty - I am submitting a copy of the buyers guide signed by the purchaser . I am also  ...

enclosing a copy of the sales receipt. The purchaser and I road to the notary office ,in the 2003 Suzuki XL7 . It was a total of   14 miles round trip - On the ride there and back. the vehicle ran fine ,no shutting off, no   noisy wheel bearing everything was operating fine. The vehicle is a 2003 ,over 11 years old with 174253 miles, not brand new. As far as the reimbursement for repairs done at their local garage ,I do not feel I am responsible to pay them. The day they purchased the vehicle and were having stalling problems on the way home, I would have looked at it then if they would have returned to Burley’s Auto. But they continued home , which is a 3 hour trip. The mechanic they had  check the Suzuki must not of known what was wrong, He changed 3 parts unnecessarily and it still shut off. The fix was never stated in the complaint. Wheel bearings can go bad at any time , they usually make noise when they do, the vehicle was not making any noises on February 14 when they purchased it. I am very sorry for any inconveniences they may have had, but I sold them an as is vehicle that was running fine.

Review: I bought a 2003 Suzuki xl-7 from Burley's Auto on February 14,2014. The list price on cars.com was $3,995.00. On the way home the car quit running on me in the middle of the road and my son was in the vehicle with me and it continued to do so on the 2 hour ride home. Took it my garage to find that it need a fuel filter, air filter and an o2 sensor in witch I fixed and the vehicle continued to shut off on me. My husband and father in law found the issue and repaired it. The following weekend the back right wheel bearing went on it and in return we fixed it. I took my vehicle to my garage for a safety inspection on March 20,2014 and he these are the issues he found with it, tail light mounting brackets broken(both),left license bulb burned out, needs belts, no battery hold down, front wheel bearings(both loose) and exhaust hanger by rear axle-exhaust wired up. The owner of the dealership wrote up the sale order as an as is sale and that I paid $2,500.00 for it and in return I paid the full asking price for it and I have the bank slip showing what I pulled out to pay for it and the sales tax. He wrote it as I paid that to save me sales and transfer on the vehicle. In three weeks I already have $500.00 into and looking at about $600.00 for the repairs plus garage fees to have this vehicle safe for my family and the road. I would like to be reimbursed for what I put into it and for the dealer to pay the repairs that are still needed on the vehicle.Desired Settlement: Money back for what I put into it already and for him to pay my garage to fix the remaining issues.

I tried calling the business after the problem started and he did not answer his phone and I understand that I signed the paper, but I would not drive 3 hours and then pull out $4,300.00 just for the fun of it. The mechanic replaced everything that came up the machine and it was a little black box the was loose that made the vehicle to shut off. I had a safety inspection done to the vehicle due to me having to put the four children into it. I have a list of everything that is wrong with it and why it shouldn't of never been inspected. It was inspected on January 10,2014 so therefore they should of known about the problems and fixed them before selling the vehicle to anyone. I feel as if I got robbed by this dealer and I feel that he should at least send me the money that I still have to put into it to make it safe for my family. Also, the day of me buying the vehicle the dealer told my husband and I that if anything went wrong that he would make it right with us. Also, going to do the transfer he is the one who did all the driving and I thought that was a little weird and also that day we had our 4 year old son with us. I can get my phone records to show that I called him when the issue started. Also, we had to keep calling him until we reached him because he wouldn't return phone calls to us.
