Charged for insurance when I didn't want it I reserved a car online with budget on Friday May 25, I denied all of the optional packages and prepayed for the days I wanted itWhen I got there they had me aign andainitial a bunch of papers and swiped my card againThey charged me for the optional imsurinsu that I had previously denied but won't refund my money, a day, because I signed or initialed the dotted line They didn't tell me what I was signing for or explain anythingI assumed I was signed for liability if I caused any damages etc like would be with renting a car

After my husband and I lost our cars in the flood, I rented a vehicle from Budget and Enterprise until we could get a new cars Both companies do direct billing with my auto insurance companyMy interaction with Budget has been a nightmareBudget understood to bill my insurance company but have billed me unexplainable charges prior to billing my insuranceThe Customer Service Reps promise things they don't deliver such as emails of proof my insurance paid them, which my insurance company has no record ofI have spent a tremendous amount on the phone and submitted a formal complaint with the company online and still no resolution

Budget required a deposit for a car rental which was paid in good faith They have refused to return the deposit
Also since the car was returned after one day instead of four due to uncontrollable circumstances, also the prepaid amount of four days was kept and no money was refunded I will be taking this complaint to the attorney general in the state of Iowa along with the rental agreement and the written statement stating that a refund would be given for three days along with the deposit I realize that the word integrity can not be associated with the car rental business They can contact me at the email address given

This Budget Rental Car business (located inside of Union Station in DC) is truly terribleI rented a car for Memorial Day WeekendI arrived, with my cat, at Union Station for a AM pick upI proceeded to wait in line for over an hour, at which point I was told (apropos of nothing) that my reservation had been cancelledI asked the employee at the counter to resolve this, but was instructed to do so myself by calling Budget's numberI did so and, as I originally told the employee at Union Station, my reservation was NOT cancelledNow I had, in fact, changed my reservation from an AM pick up to a AM pick up, which meant that Budget owed me approximately $in a refund (for having the car for one less day)However, while the employee now agreed that I hadn't cancelled my reservation, I was told I couldn't get the refund at present and that to take the car, I had to agree to the original, more expensive priceDesperate to get my cat out of Union Station, I agreed, after being told I could call Budget (again) to request my $backMORE THAN TWO HOURS after arriving to pick up my car, I was finally in itNote that my car did NOT have an EZ PassOn my way north, I had to pass through a toll in the amount off $- there was literally no human at the toll booth, and it was either pass through the toll and "get billed later" by the Dep't of Transportation, or get off the road (which wasn't actually possible)So, I passed throughI returned the car over two weeks ago and have not rec'd my $backI have called over four times to ask for the money - nothingWhile they seem incapable of refunding my money, they slapped me with an additional $charge for the $tollWhy? As a "convenience" fee for renting an EZ Pass from them (which, again, I did not)SO - I am now wasting my time trying to get back a total of $80, which I never expect to actually seeI would never rent from this company ever again, seriously
I sincerely apologize for this third correspondence, but ironically, right after sending my previous two e-mails regarding my complaint
against Budget Car Rental, my bank contacted me and told me that the Budget Corporate Office refunded the full disputed amount to my bank account
I am VERY satisfied with the outcome, as well as, the way the company handled my dispute
Unless, something unforeseen comes up regarding the refund (which it should not), I am highly satisfied with the results.

I have rented on two separate occasions a vehicle from the St Paul airport and when I picked up my vehicle they upgraded my rental to a much more expensive vehicleWhen I called to complain it was indicated that we signed for the upgrade and that we were told that they vehicle was being upgradedIn fact, we were not told about the upgrade and the signature on the rental agreement is an "X" and not our initials indicating that we knew about the upgradeWhen I questioned both renters neither one of them were informed of the upgrade and would not have upgraded their rentalWhen I called the company they indicated that I signed for the upgrade but no signature is on file or on the rental contractBoth charges were double the amount that I was quoted and they do not feel that this was done in errorWhen I have looked at other rental contracts from other rental companies I have initials and signatures on all their documents and were informed of upgrades whereas Budget does not have any signatures on file in regards to the contractBoth times that rentals were reserved on-line before the vehicles were picked upI do not think that this is an ethical way to run a company and they basically tell me in customer service too bad you agreed to this and since they were not there they do not know what was said to the renter and that this is their policy to rent out their vehicles this way
