This patient came into our office on 03/07/for an appointment. She presented to our office with no insurance information on file. At her initial appointment with this office on 06/02/2017, she informed us that she would be no longer be covered by her insurance as of
06/30/2017. At that time, her insurance was set up to purge out of our system on that date. In addition, the patient signed our financial agreement stating that "It is your responsibility to know your dental coverageIt is your responsibility to pay any amount not covered by your insurance company regardless of the reason." At patient's 03/07/appointment, upon checking out, after treatment, the patient informed the staff that she had *** insurance. The patient was informed that this office does not accept that insurance and payment would be her responsibility. The charge for her appointment was $138.00, not $160.00, and she paid that in full. I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear beloIn 2017 when I was in the office for several visits I stated that my pregnancy [redacted] would be running out at the end of June but never gave permission to "purge" my insurance information from their system.  Secondly, when coming into the office if I showed no insurance on file why didn't the front desk receptionist confirm ANY of my information including my name, address, and insurance as is the practice with every doctor's office I have ever been to.  Being as though I was waved to and motioned to sit down with no verification requested from the front desk as the patient I was only to assume the information wasn't needed.  Several other patients entered the office and at no time was their information confirmed or even their name confirmed.  Also, whether or not they had my current insurance information on file as of the last time I visited the office they accepted [redacted] insurance.  Without having been informed as a previous [redacted] patient that the office no longer accepted [redacted] I had no reason to assume that they had stopped.  Also, the words spoken in the office after my visit by the receptionist to the other office lady was "we missed this" when speaking in regards to my insurance.
