Be clear on costs before you agree.
I’ve done my own taxes or paid an Acct for many years. I have never paid more than $500 to an Acct for tax prep; even when my wife and I had three states and federal.
I thought it was very clear that B&K wanted $500 to do my Mom’s estate taxes. But, when the bills came there were two; one for $500 and one for $565.
They agreed to cut the $500 bill in half.
They were adamant that it was clear at the beginning; it was not obviously.
Be careful.
